The Art of Ready Player One
I really enjoyed the movie Ready Player One, I'm currently reading the novel it was based on, and wanted to grab this book to see the art designs for the film. This is a really great Art of book, I have a lot of the Marvel Art of books for the MCU films and one for the latest Star Wars films, and those are great but I have a nit pick for them, they only ever have pictures of the art designs. They rarely show pictures of the final design used in the films and rarely any photos from the film, if any. This Art of book for Ready Player One not only has stills from the film, it shows final designs of characters, worlds and vehicles as well as behind the scenes photos. It's really more of a Making of book, with tons of artwork and designs. The pictures are also great, good quality, a good number of splash pages with art filling the entire page and even a tri-page pullout of the final battle on the Voltron's Planet Doom. This book even kind of has its own Easter Eggs, almost like a Where's Waldo book, you can find Batman or Spawn or the Iron Giant in these massive vistas of battles, etc. It's really awesome, the lay out is good, the Foreword by Steven Speilberg is a bit brief but I really liked Ready Player One author Ernest Cline's Introduction. If you enjoyed the movie Ready Player One or even the novel, I think you'd really like this book for all the great art and designs and behind the scenes pictures and info on motion capturing the actors and incorporating so many iconic cult classics into this story. The Art of Ready Player One comes FULLY APPROVED.

Great read, perfect for any Ready Player One Fan!
Very impressed with the book. It includes roughly 156 pages of beautifully created concept art and also full length descriptions of each of the major set pieces from the movie. A forward by Steven Spielberg and an introduction by Ernest Cline. We get to see an in depth look at each of the high 5, as well as some of the other main characters, and how their design came to be.Then an exploration of the OASIS universe, and a look into each of the major scenes for the movie, with a bit more as well as some Easter Eggs to boot! I would say it is very much worth it for any Ready Player One fan or someone looking for art inspiration as this movie was one of a kind. The only downside is, despite its impressive length, you are left wanting more.

First to the Key!
Not much material is out there for this movie so this book is a must for fans. Lots of great artwork from the Oasis and the real world. Besides the book that the movie was based on there is not much else that will give you lots of great info. This book is pretty thick and hefty lots of pages of beautiful artwork

Not bad, but frustrating
This is one of those art books that does well at covering just about everything on its topic but doesn’t go particularly in-depth on any one thing. There’s plenty of designs and concepts, but no more than maybe two pages per subject. And nothing on Mechagodzilla or Gundam!

The Art of Ready Player One.
A beautifully illustrated book full of concept art used in the making of the film. Those of us who've read the book may have some reservations about the visual realisation of the movie, but it's undeniably stylish and dynamic; in full-colour throughout, this volume is well up to the high standards one usually expects from Titan. And most of the book does consist of art-work – it isn't a book of film-stills, as some volumes of this type turn out to be – it's just a pity there is no “Look inside” option at present.A very recommendable book for anyone interested in design for film, fans of the movie or sci-fi concept art in general.

One for the fans of the film if not the original book
I bought this for my daughter because ready player one was one of her all time favorite books. Like many other when we went to see the film we found the adaptation from the book a bit of a shock. We both enjoyed the film and the whole story is based on the visual art used in it so I bought this for her as a gift on an amazon special offer day. The book was worth what I paid for it but it is not to the standard of similar books we have bought before (Like the Harry Potter versions) I would say if you enjoyed the film and it is on offer go for it, if you want a true in depth book on the making of the film and it is at full price I would be less enthusiastic about recommending it.

a decent book.... worth the £23 ...
a decent book....worth the £23 I purchased it for....HOWEVER the book repeatedly states that the film was partly made in MANCHESTER....when it was in fact filmed in BIRMINGHAM. Details matter....I emailed the publisher who have not bothered to reply...they clearly don't care.
