Google Pixel 8a – Unlocked Android smartphone with advanced Pixel Camera, 24-hour battery and powerful security – Bay, 128GB

I’ve had this Google Pixel 8a mobile phone for a couple of weeks and I am impressed, it’s was very easy to transfer photos etc over from my Samsung phone to this phone. Having a Google account helps too. I really like the phone’s camera, it’s better than my Samsung A21s phone which has a good camera, but this is sharper and can take photos in a dull light much better. I like magic eraser tool, under Tools, and the best take option that gives you the option of picking different faces from other photos taken of the subject. A really good idea with a group photo where someone looks down etc. The camera has a front on screen fingerprint unlock that has worked most times, since I’ve had it. It has a face recognition option too, but I took it off as it opens too easily for me. Calls are very clear and music sounds great. The phone is slightly smaller than the Pixel 8 which I prefer, as I can fit it much easier into the phone pockets of handbags. I have noticed recently the camera editing has been a little oddly glitchy, not saving an edited photo, plus I had the phone freeze once when trying to turn it off. But other than that it’s a super phone with over 6 years of updates from Google. One thing I can’t wait to try is the translate live, I downloaded the language I wanted so I can use the translate app offline too, speaking live as the phone translates live in both languages is amazing. There’s also more AI in Gemini available too on the phone. All in all it has a lot to offer, yet quick and easy to use.

Really like this Pixel 8a, it's been a really good experience since having it. I love everything about the phone, it's premium feel, the screen is clear and really bright!! It has everything I need, the wallpapers and themes are really good. I have installed Nova Launcher on mine as the icons were a bit small out of the box, but that's just a personal thing, the sound is really loud and clear, the camera is bloody good for a sub 600 blower. I've had all the chinese phones and the redmi notes, and the big names, and this is my favourite so far. It hasn't had any issues touch wood so far since I've had it. The battery life could be better, but I do like to play games and mess around on it. The only downside to be really honest is the time it takes to charge, it's got an 18w charge rate and there's no charger or screen protector or case in the box. So you'll have to buy these separately, you can charge it wirelessly but again it's only 15w charge which isn't the best, but this wouldn't put me off buying it again when the next model comes out. Google have really outdone themselves here superb phone.

Great phone but a bit disappointed with the camera. Bought as reviews were great but didn't compare to my Huawei pr30 pro which was much better, as we're my previous p30 and p20 pros

I have for 1 year and a half. Battery is still very performing, over 90 of residual charge left. Very smooth with a decent camera. One of the best in term quality and price.

Great phone and a better size than my previous phones which were a bit big. It turns on very quickly and responds quickly too. I love everything about it as it's very easy to navigate. I can't give any technical info but being an uncomplicated phone does it for me. I'm also loving the 'smart eraser' photo feature.

Get this on offer and it’s a bargain - I just wish there was a middle ground that allowed you to use any phone without committing to one eco system or the other (and was free and way to use - I know there are ways round it but I have zero interest in this stuff and anything that looks like hassle gets the no vote!)

I love this phone—no issues after about a year of use. I wasn’t sure about purchasing at first, as I previously used iPhones and Samsungs, but I think I’ve permanently switched to Pixel now.

Do not recommend. The battery doesn't even last half a day. It has lots of bugs (silent/sound, camera, restarts out of nowhere). I had it for a year and had to but another phone. Really not worth the price.

J'ai hésité longtemps à changer mon vieux smartphone de 7 ans. Pas question pour moi d'acheter jetable en payant 300 euros un téléphone qui ne serait plus mis à jour et donc obsolète au bout de 3ans et encore moins question de payer plus de 1000 euros pour un haut de gamme et seulement gagner 2 ans de plus. J'ai donc trouvé un compromis avec Google pixel 8a : payer un milieu de gamme (499 euros), avec une qualité quasi de haut de gamme et surtout en ayant la garantie Google de 7 ans de mise a jour sécurité et Android !!! Du jamais vu! J'achète durable et ça me convient bien ! C'est Android et Google donc c'est connue et hyper facile d'utilisation. Je l'ai pris en bleu et la couleur est conforme à la description. Dans des commentaires on parle des bords noirs, perso ça ne m'a pas choqué et je ne vois pas trop en quoi c'est un problème. La batterie semble bien tenir la charge ( pour un smartphone). Il y a pas mal d'applications sympas notamment niveau sécurité (alerte séisme, VPN,...). Après c'est un smartphone donc pour utiliser la plupart des applis, il faut être ok de partager ses données comme la localisation... Sinon, un peu dommage, vu le prix, que le chargeur ne soit pas fourni. Il y a uniquement le câble. Pour résumé, qualité/prix top, facile à utiliser, applis sympas, appareil photo de qualité,... Bref, je ne regrette pas mon achat !

My 8a I picked up from Amazon on13/02 is my 4th Pixel. Amazon's price was $200 lower than retail and it was delivered within 48 hours (Greater Brisbane) The data/app shift from my Pixel 6 to 8a was seamless - Google does this really well. Having used it for only a week the 8a is a little snappier than my 6, the photos sharper, and its overall functionality incrementally better. I've noticed Magic Eraser, Google Assistant and web pages load much quicker. I'm getting 2 days of moderate use and standby so far. A testament to Google is that my 7 year old 2XL and 4 are still being daily driven by family members.
