Just what I wanted
This is the 2nd time I bought the 8 cup Mixpresso coffee pot. I wanted 8 cups not 12. I don’t use the programmable feature, just turn it on and off. It does shut off after 2 hours. It only takes 6 minutes to make 6 cups. Coffee is hot and taste good. I only use the filter that comes with it. It does give off a lot of steam when finishing making. It is small enough so I just pull the coffee pot out from under the cabinet, no problem. I do have a coffee tray that it sits on but coffee pot does not leak. The carafe pours with no dripping, whether you pour fast or slow. It is priced reasonable to replace when needed. I will buy again 👍 Debbie

Do Not Buy This
So Im normally someone who doesnt like to complain but this product is horrible. It comes with a reusable filter but the reusable filter leaves grounds in my coffee and also the coffee make is an 8 cup but doesnt even fit 4-5 cup paper filters properly and forget about using larger filters. The display is very difficult to see unless i get on my knees and im looking at it from counter level. The hot plate thing the carafe its on doesnt keep coffee pot very warm and even fresh brewed its not the temperature it should be. Next Im getting really tired of the carafe because it spills your coffee all over the counter every time and there is no fixing that problem by pouring slower ive always gotta have a towel there to catch the mess. Next as soon as you open the top where the water goes it makes a mess on the counter because it runs right out of the back of the lid. Next coffee flavor isnt very good its passable but not enjoyable. The carafe doesnt tell you how much coffee you have it only shows on the side of the water reservoir but thats the only nit picking thing i can deal with. Considering I paid over $30.00 for this coffee maker I'm very unhappy with it and Ill just go back to the $8.00 Mr. Coffee coffee maker I bought at walmart before i bought this one at least it had zero of the problems this one has.

Not working after 3 months-UPDATE
Happy to report that after I reported my coffee pot wasn't working, customer service reached out and replaced it for me. Overall I'm impressed with their service and happy with the size of this machine. five stars, especially considering the price and size. The 5 cuppers are just not enough and this gives me enough for 2 cups of coffee in the morning.

Don't rely on the poor rating! Not too shabby of a small coffee maker!
I ordered the 8 cup because I wanted ability to program it so it turns on in the morning by itself. The display is very, very tiny, but if you're someone that doesn't care about a clock and just wants to be able to program a small coffee maker, this coffee maker is for you. It's small, convenient, and does exactly what I need it to do. The plastic on top feels a bit flimsy, but it closes securely. It brews a full pitcher in about 5-10 minutes and the coffee strength depends on how much coffee you put into the convenient reuseable filter that comes with it. All in all, very pleased with this coffee maker.

Ok but lots of little annoyances
I was happy with my old 12 cup brewer but I only brew 6-8 cups so I thought something smaller would be better. I also wanted a "cone" filter brewer because I would often brew less than a full pot of coffee. 1. This one has a "cone" but it's only the reusable basket filter. What it fits into is more round bowl shaped with ribs sticking out. If you put a paper filter into this bowl the coffee seems weak. If you use only toe provided reusable basket the finer grounds get through into your pot. I use both and it brews a decent cup of coffee. 2. It's slow. I can't compare times because my old brewer quit -that''s why I bought a new one -but it seems to take as long to brew 8 cups in this as it did to brew 12 cups in the old one. 3. Pour slow or clean up the mess. Not only does it brew slowly but you must pour slowly or the pot dribbles all over whatever is under it. 4. It seems to put out a LOT of steam at the end of the brewing cycle. I'm used to a little steam at the end of the brewing cycle but this one turns into a real steamer. I'm concerned that over time it will damage the cabinet that is over the brewer. So, that's it. It brews a decent cup of coffee but there are these annoying little things. I suspect I will replace it before long.

STILL. 6 MNONTHS LATER makes great coffee at a below bargain price
makes great coffee at a below bargain price. several comments about flimsy product though not in the 5 star reviews. hot water good coffee makes a good cup. there is no reason to think this maker was created for the outback. UPDATE. still makes great coffee 6 months later. super value

does not heat water properly; coffee grounds end up in coffee
bought this because it is a 6 cup vs 4/5 cup coffee pot. i you love strong coffee, do not use the enclosed permanent filter because 6.5 tablespoons for 4 cups (strong) overflows into pot making grainy murky coffee. even using a paper filter, 6.5 tablespoons overflows into coffee. worse problem is it does not heat water beyond 120 degrees. for best flavor coffee should be 140 - 150 degrees.

Fragile
The carafe is VERY thin & fragile. It broke on my first use when I swirled water in it - just from the torque of holding the handle. I’ve used coffee pots for the last 40 years & have never broken a carafe trying to rinse it.. No wonder the instructions say to not put it in the dishwasher.. piece of junk.
