Good quality, surprisingly big and good for homemade fish paste dog treats
These tubes seem to be well made and easy to clean with a bottle brush. The hole for dispensing is around 1.5cm in diameter, and the hole for filling is just over 4.5cm.Total length is 19cm, and when filled and folded over this goes down to around 14cm.I ordered these to put pate in for dog training. Initially I thought that they would be too big, however to test it I mixed half a tin of sardines with half a cup of soaked oats, and filled half a tube. I then folded the tube over and slid on the plastic end piece, cleverly designed to be pretty much leak proof. The fish paste was easy to dispense, my dog enjoyed licking it from the tube, and his recall was excellent that day. I was suddenly the best friend of every dog in the park!

but like many things today
These tubes have been around for years, but like many things today, suppliers are cutting corners to maximise their profits. Is this what has happened in this instance I not sure, but...Now the tube works great, but it's the plastic fastener at the bottom which is the difficulty. Basically the thing cracked when I was out on the trail. I was squeezing out peanut-butter, which was pretty thick due to the low temperature outside, and the pressure caused the plastic fastener to crack. In the past, like in the late 80's when I first started using these things, that never happened. Maybe I just got a bad set or maybe the plastic they are using today doesn't have the same working temperature range and/or thickness.Anyway, they work in principle, but just be aware or you may find yourself covered in goo.

Invaluable.
Used these for years but recently broke one of the retainers (my own fault) so ordered two more. These have proved invaluable on my recent cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats (camping unsupported). I had them filled with margerine, jam and peanut butter. They didn't leak and kept the contents fresh and useable for all of the journey of two weeks. I did top up the peanut butter and clean out and refill the margerine after a week just to be on the safe side. They save a little weight ofver plastic tubs but their main advantage is the lack of mess in use, just a quick squeeze to dispense the right amount of 'goof' and then back on with the lid. You don't get grass or insects able to get at your food, being polythene they are impact resistant and, obviously, pack smaller as the contents are used up.Time to pack them away ready for the next adventure.

Not plane compatible
I wanted bottles to take on a plane, but sadly there is no indication on how many ml these contain and they are much too big for the purpose I required which was to decant toothpaste.

Difficult to use.
Very hard to seal the open end. Frightened of breaking the plastic strip. One sealed they are great.

Good value
I got these to use for homemade toothpaste and they're brilliant for that. It's a good size, quite big, easy to pour or spoon in, the opening is big enough. You fill it in and then close with a clip that's included. Easy and handy. I can see that washing will not be a problem as well. Would recommend and will probably get another pack for home made lotion etc, very handy.

Broken Clip
Reasonably pleased with the tubes, however I was disappointed to find one of the sealing clips arrived broken. At this price it wasn't worth returning but I probably won't buy these again.

Four Stars
Will be interesting to see how long the caps last...
