Works Great - Caught 3 Gophers On My First Try (Out of 8 Traps Set)
I set 8 traps and caught 3 gophers on my first try! I followed the instructions for these types of traps that I found on youtube to dig out the plug under a pocket gopher mound and place the trap inside the tunnel. I had best results on a couple where I put a flat object over the hole and then covered that with dirt. Some that I used dirt to cover the hole after setting the trap were triggered and buried with more dirt with a gopher pushing dirt onto the trap instead of walking into it. Of the 3 I trapped, I had to dispatch one, the trap worked beautifully on the other two. I used about 18 inches of bailing wire to attach my traps to a stake outside of the hole to prevent an animal from getting caught and dragging my trap down the tunnel. The only negative is that these traps take more hand strength and coordination to set than the Victor Easy Sets, but these are 1/3 of the cost...so I opted to have more traps to set. That said, my 9 and 12 year old kids can set these with just a little practice, so it's not that difficult.

Seem sturdy
The media could not be loaded. Update 3/3: They certainly work, but not for an extra smart gopher who digs holes to go around these traps, or throws dirt on them to trigger them. Nothing wrong with the item, but better suited to a creature that’s not quite as smart as what I’m battling. Ended up having to bury and use gopher wire around my entire fence perimeter instead which seemed to do the trick. Maybe these will work for someone else, but they didn’t work for me. 😕————I have yet to use these since they just arrived today, but they seem pretty sturdy and made entirely of steel. They are not difficult to set, but it requires a bit of finger strength, and the instructions needed a little bit of figuring out, so I made a short video on how to properly set these traps for anybody who’s having issues with them. I will be setting all of my traps out today for a very annoying war of attrition with a gopher that I’ve been losing for the last two weeks trying to live catch him since I’d rather not kill him, but he’s a little too smart for his own good so it’s time to resort to violence. We’ll see how it goes… if it works as advertised, then I’ll be coming back to update my review.

Easy to use!
Liked how big the pack is for not much more money! Works great for all the gophers I've had and being able to use multiple makes it a lot more successful on catching them!

Jaws are too large & hard to load.
Tried these since they were so cheap. They are built well, very hard to set/load (hurts fingers), & jaws are too large for hole. Gopher trips but never gets caught. Had to go back to our reliable, more expensive, VICTOR gopher traps.

Junky traps! 2 are broken! 6 are almost impossible to set!
We have a problem with pocket gophers and had hoped these traps would work. We actually caught one so far and are struggling to have the strength in our fingers/hands to set the traps! One trap is just not working at all (can't set it as one of the arms that catches the rodent is stuck in the wrong place) they other is missing the tiny indentation that holds the trap arm in place. We are not happy with them although the concept works, the traps are not quality at all. They spring easily when you are trying to set them down in the holes too! I would not buy this brand again and would like replacement traps for the 2 that don't work at all.

Made well, look like all of the other traps I've bought over the years
Great price for twelve of these traps. I attach a piece of wire to them before I stick them in the hole and put a loop on the exposed end. I then put a stick though the loop and push it into the ground. This let's me see where I put the trap and prevents the gopher from pulling the trap into the tunnel.

Works great
So I saw mixed reviews for these when I was shopping, and figured I'd bite the bullet and 'risk' it (Amazon free returns) but these traps work amazingly.I walked my property and place 5 (out of 8) in what looked like relatively fresh gopher holes, and by the next day had caught 3 gophers. The other 2 traps were not spung so I left them for another few days before I remove them and filled the holes in.I've since placed traps in new holes that have appeared and caught 2 more gophers, for 5 total.these traps are reusable, wash clean, and I would not want to have my hand caught in one.5 stars!

6 of 8 work (25% defective)
These are knockoffs of the Macabee gopher traps https://www.amazon.com/Macabee-MGT-Gopher-Trap/dp/B00004RA58/ref=sr_1_5?crid=35Q67DS91DRO&keywords=macabee+gopher+trap&qid=1693072105&sprefix=macabee+g%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-5 They look nearly identical and are much cheaper, but quality control is suspect. I was able to set 6 of the 8, the other two couldn't catch the spring bar. Still a bargain, but buyer beware. The first two photos show how the trigger bar can't catch the bales in my defective ones, the third shows one of the six that work.
