Excellent for backups and storage
I use this 4TB drive to back up my home Synology NAS. The disk is fast and reliable. It comes with two thick cables USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A, which should be good for everyone. Samsung and SK Hynix are the two brand I rely the most

excellent little hard drive!
Wish I could get another at the same price I paid! It's small physically but huge on data storage. I loaded it up with family photos and feel like it will last a long time.

GREAT SSD
FAST! Easily partitioned and easy to work with. Only had an initial problem of actuating. Had to replug into my MacBook Pro to initiate downloads and partitioning. Gets quite hot when working but I just set up on its side to minimize the heat. Believe you’ll love it.

Severe Issues With Write Speed
This model has severe issues with write speed. If you are writing large files to the drive every so often the write speed slows down to 1-2 megabytes per second which lasts anywhere for 30 seconds to several minutes. Then the speed picks up to normal for a whlle and then the same thing happens again. I've tried updating the firmware to the latest version and using the Samsung utility to totally erase the drive and start over, and the same thing happens again before too long. Grok AI tells me that this is a known problem with the T7 drive. I wish I had known before I bought it. As I was using this drive in an offsite location to send backups to at regular intervals it's borderline useless because the backups take forever because of this problem. I'm back to using a 2tb T5 drive which works fine. I would not recommend buying this drive.

Great Little SSD
Great external SSD. Compatible with mac/pc, looks great nice and sleek. Love the fact that I can take it anywhere and is also fast and rugged.

Writing speeds very slow after some months of non-use
I have been using these for about two or three years now. They work okay. But I prefer the SanDisk external hard drives. What I've noticed with these is that if I haven't used them for two or three months, the writing speed is extremely slow for a couple of days until the drive has been running consistently. File transfer is tough. Logic Pro is crashing during my podcast, which I can't have. I am a media guy, so I have to get pretty knowledgeable about how tech works, but I'm not nerdy enough to understand if I'm using this drive properly. Maybe I have to reconfigure or clear a cache I'm not seeing. But all I know is that after some months of not using it, writing speeds are very slow. My SanDisk drives, however, are completely fine, and I feel like they have the same writing speeds as listed on the box.

No primeiro uso, drive esquentou demais e não funciona mais
Na primeira vez que fui fazer backup dos meus arquivos para esse drive, após algumas horas de cópia o drive apresentou super aquecimento e deu erro. Depois disso, não funciona mais, não importa o que faça. Não é reconhecido, não aparece no chkdsk ou similares. Desperdicei meu dinheiro. Nunca mais compro esse modelo de SSD.

Extremely Disappointed – Files Disappear, Drive Is Defective
I purchased the Samsung 4TB T7 SSD hoping for a reliable backup drive, but it has been completely unusable. Every time I try to copy files, PowerPoints, videos, ZIPs, the drive shows the copy as complete, but the files disappear or become inaccessible. I’ve tried multiple cables, different ports, and even reformatted the drive using exFAT on Mac. Despite this, the problem persists. Other files sometimes copy and sometimes not, and folders and larger files regularly fail. Also I want to add that the drive is not even old, I got it less than a year ago and I barely used it twice. This is not acceptable for a premium SSD and is clearly defective. I can’t trust it at all. Samsung and Amazon need to address this issue.
