This is marketed for motorcycles, but I'm not sure I'd want to ride far with a flag on my bike. However, I used to attend rallies and shows, and a pole like this is ideal for flying your club's flag when parked or during a parade, or to indicate who the Road Captain & marshalls are on a ride-out. It's also a handy way to spot your bike or tent when returning to the camp site after a long day of fun, games, music and refreshments...I've currently got the flag poles on my bicycle. The standard of driving is getting worse and worse, especially in town, so anything which can make me more visible has to be a good thing. I also sometimes tow a small trailer behind my bike, which for some reason seems to really trigger car drivers, even when I'm easily keeping up with the flow of traffic.To be completely fair, the trailer is hard to see from the driver's seat of a car when they are tailgating me so close they are practically in my shorts, as it's below the line of the bonnet. I've attached these flag poles to the back of it to indicate the position of the trailer. A small orange pennant on the top makes them easy to spot. At night I could put a small LED light on one, but I'm not sure I'm brave / stupid enough to tow a trailer behind a bicycle in a busy city at night!The poles clamp on to any round or roundish tube, including the handlebars, as shown in the listing. I absolutely, positively would NEVER attach a flagpole to the handlebars if you are attempting to ride the bike. If you attach it to the carrier rack on the back, take care not to kick it as you get on and off.The extended pole is about four feet long, which is plenty. It's telescopic like a radio aerial, and is barely ten inches long when compressed. It easily fits in a saddlebag or pannier.
