Laughed for hours with friends. Loved this adult game with dark humor. Not suitable for kids. Quick game play.

We picked up Horrible Therapists on a whim, and it’s now one of our go-to party games. It’s easy to learn, quick to play, and absolutely ridiculous in the best way. The prompts and card combos are sharp, a little unhinged, and had our whole table laughing so hard we had to pause the game more than once. It shines with a mixed group of friends who enjoy dark, irreverent humor—and it’s perfect for breaking the ice. Replay value is great, too. Even with the same people, new card pairings keep the jokes fresh, and the judging banter is half the fun. Just know your crowd: the humor can be edgy, so it’s not a family game night pick.

Bought this for my teenage son and like other games I thought maybe my youngest can play as well. Boy was I WRONG 🤣. Extreme adult jokes that are in the form of not only words but PICTURES!! Super fun game and will make for a good time and many laughs just not for children under like the age of 15 lol. We had a BLAST playing and laughed our butts off.

This silky game is easy to learn and goes fairly fast. Four players is really a minimum for the game to work, one round we had with 5 players seemed a bit better. The basic format is that one player turns over a therapist question (eg, what happened last night), the client answer (eg, I was with with Brittany Spears), and then each of the other players selects, from their hands, a response by the therapist. The player serving as therapist for that round then picks the response they like best. We had a lot of laughter, both with the on-target answers as well as the really lame ones. This is definitely an r-rated game. Cards include references to genitalia, drugs, dismemberment, porn, and politics, so you need to know your friends before proposing this game. And embarrassingly, I’ve already learned of some things I didn’t know about before when one of the players, for example, told me that a website referenced was real, not just made up for the game. Have fun with this and be silly - games go quickly so you don’t have to invest a lot of time to have some group fun.

Got it for a game night at a friend's house. It was a big hit. Some of the cards are very current-news, and seemed a little topical or not funny because they were just outdated. Not very many though a lot of them were hilarious. We had a lot of fun making the little comic strips. It was a hit while we were playing it and everyone laughed. I would definitely recommend, but some of the cards were redundant and or overly specific so we weren't able to use some of the stuff in our hand.

Fun to play and easy to explain. My friends and I have giggled for hours. You build a comic strip together as a group using three piles of cards (question, answer, treatment). Each round rotates who the judge is. When not judging you are playing. The judge will select one question card to build out the first part of the triptych with the therapist’s question to the patient. Next, the judge draws three answer cards from which they privately select the one answer card that will serve as the second part of triptych. The other two answer cards are discarded. Now that everyone can see the therapist’s question (eg - what happened at thanksgiving?) and the patient’s answer (eg - I made out with my cousin), they select the card in their hand of 5 cards they feel will best complete the triptych as the therapist’s treatment/response (eg - oh yeah I saw that on your moms TikTok). Once all players have turned in their selected card, the judge will go through the offered treatments and decide which they like best.

So fun to play. Perfect gift for a therapist.

As a therapist, I was excited to find a humorous game that could help me unwind and have some fun. Unfortunately, I’m not eager to play it again. The concept is great, but the execution feels rushed. On the plus side, the game is easy to learn and the artwork is amusing. The pop-culture-based prompts will likely land well if you’re familiar with the references, but for players from different cultural backgrounds, some of the humor may miss the mark, similar to Cards Against Humanity. For me, the novelty wore off quickly. The card variety is limited, and the prompts and art began to feel repetitive after a short while. A fun idea, but lacking the depth and freshness to keep me coming back.

The concept of the game is pretty simple, easy to understand, it is fun, and also contains oddly cute and disturbing illustrations. It also contains references to american shops, diners, celebrities, which as a person who is not as deeply interested in that culture, is a bit hard to place on the "fun scale", but regardless, it is a good game.

HEEL SLECHTE SERVICE

It is very easy and extremely funny. Definitely NSFW and not for kids, as it has a lot of crass humour and cartoon nudity, gore, etc. but with the right crowd it's a riot. I have played Joke Hazard, and this is similar with just a different framing and so having both is still a different experience. I prefer this game personally, and so did the other participants if that helps. I recommend with any game like this, don’t bother keeping points. What we did was voted each round what we thought was the funniest card but you couldn’t vote for your own. One time when we all were bummed that the card we drew was better than we played, we just played the same round again. Discard between however much you want, the goal isn’t to win the round, but make it hilarious for me and my friends, and this approach improves all games like this. So Joke Hazard, Cards Against Humanity, Apples to Apples, whatever. Try a non competitive play sometime if you haven’t, it’s great.
