Purchased after a water leak on a copper pipe behind washing machine. Only discovered it when the kitchen floor was covered with water. Bought a set of 3 switchbot sensors, easy to set up, work well when tested with water across the contacts and the app appears to give a timely alert. Good to have but hope not to hear the alarm anytime soon.

Easy to set up and very responsive. The SwitchBot WiFi Water Sensor detects even small leaks quickly and sends instant app notifications without needing a hub. The built-in 100dB alarm is loud enough to hear across the house, and the IP67 waterproof design makes it safe for basements, bathrooms, or under appliances. Battery life is excellent, and the extra probe helps monitor hard-to-reach spots. A cost‑effective safeguard against water damage.

I picked these up primarily for the bathroom, where I have recently had a leaking integrated toilet cistern in a bathroom cabinet. Seeing as there was absolutely no way to know there was a leak until the wood decided to swell, there was absolutely no way of knowing without taking off the covers - This proves a handy tool for such purposes. If the same pipe were to drip, I'd then know - the siren on this thing is pretty noticeable. The fact that you can plonk it down without even using its smart features, is quite handy, also. The main thing that concerns me, is that it only seems to sense if the two metal pads are bridged at the bottom of the device - so unless there is standing water, I cannot see this being much use. I have tried putting it on top of a piece of saturated cardboard and MDF (merely as a test) and it doesn't seem to pick anything up - I'd like to think that there would be an inbuilt hygrometer or something, for when the metal pads aren't actively being bridged by dampness. As these pads are also not flush with the floor, you'd need a fair amount of standing water to trigger it. I'll have a play around in the app and see if there are any sensitivity settings - nothing is immediately apparent, however. My brief tests have thusfar concluded that this is a niche product for occasions where you are already expecting a leak/just fixed one and need to monitor - rather than a device to set down for a long time, until there could be a leak. If this could be powered over USB, I see much more use in the device - as you could power it continually and have it hidden away behind a washing machine or cupboard for that time a year down the line when the outlet pipe inevitably decides to fall out of the drain! Battery power is something I cannot currently comment on due to length of testing, but I do suspect it may be rather short, using both BT and WiFi - I'll update in due course. The fact that these aren't rechargeable is moderately irritating (but i'd like to still have the ability to replace these batteries if they *were* added ina new revision!)

I have several products now by this brand. I am very impressed with them all. These leak detectors quality, look and feel or the products is really good. These leak detectors are a great idea. I found them really easy and quick to set up. Testing the alarm and sensors worked well. Loud alarm too. I have one in my airing cupboard, one in a bathroom and one under my kitchen sink……all three locations have had leaks before, so am wary of it happening again. Would absolutely order again and very happy to recommend

EDIT: Battery apparently went flat, but no notification. Had a leak and it wasn’t detected, so fundamentally failed at its job. Rating revised to one star. Original review: I have these under all my sinks and in the boiler cupboard. The app was easy to use and requests emergency notification permissions so you will get notified even if your phone is on silent. They worked fine when I tested them by placing them on a damp towel.

I recently purchased the SwitchBot Water Sensor and was immediately impressed by the quality, the speed of notifications, and how simple it was to set up. Yesterday, it quite literally saved my home from a disaster. I had just left the house when, within 10 minutes, I received a leak alert. At first, I thought, could this really be accurate? I turned the car around, and as soon as I got to the door, I could already hear the sensor alarm going off. When I stepped inside, I discovered my fish tank was actually leaking! Thanks to this device, I was able to stop what could have been a major flood. I’m so thankful I chose this product instead of a cheaper alternative. This experience has given me a lot of confidence in SwitchBot as a brand, and I’m already looking into getting more of their products. Highly recommended!

Tras varios meses de uso he de indicar mi total satisfacción con el producto. Compré un pack de tres tras haber probado el producto individualmente. Los tengo distribuidos por la cocina, baños y lavadero, de tal forma que me permite detectar cualquier fuga de agua antes de que provoque un problema grave. Especial mención cebo hacer del sensor que coloque junto a la toma de agua de la nevera americana, gracias a lo que me di cuenta de una ligera perdida en el conducto plástico, que de haberse rodo habría provocado un escape grande. Indicar que además del pitido que emite el propio sensor, los tengo vinculados con mi aplicación Alexa, que me permite recibir una aviso de alarma a través los altavoces , además de la notificación al móvil que tengo configurado en la propia app de Switchbot. Por todo ello debo indicar que el producto es totalmente recomendable.

This water leak sensor works great! I placed it in the laundry room, kitchen, and guest bedroom, and it detects water instantly. The alarm is loud, and I get immediate alerts on my phone. It already helped me catch a small leak near the washing machine before it became a bigger issue. The one in the kitchen gives me peace of mind under the sink, and the sensor near the guest bathroom adds extra protection. Easy to set up, reliable, and definitely worth it for home safety!
