Patience is a virtue
Bought this for my oldest (15) and she has a love hate relationship with it. So far looks amazing but it is definitely challenging with how small the pieces are.

Challenging but worth it.
Not for everyone.I just want to state first, that the pieces are not Lego sized 😂🤣 I made the mistake of not paying attention to the size when I bought it (it was so pretty, I just had to get it). It’s not a bad thing. I was just underprepared for how tiny the pieces would be. Don’t be me. Check out the size. Heads up to parents, this is not kiddo friendly to all ages. Also, don’t drop any pieces! lol they vanish and take forever to find.Overall opinion:It's absolutely gorgeous when completed. It was time consuming in a good way. It was relaxing sorting the pieces and putting it together. However, it was also frustrating at times. Some steps were difficult to understand due to poor direction (so many parts in one step), and even worse was how some of the parts were challenging to put together. The end product was worth the struggle though.Pros:- A complex build that you can spend time on. I believe it took me about 6-7ish hours to build (with breaks and tv watching in the background).- Comes with plenty of extra pieces. Mine also came with an extra light strip.- Instructions are for the most part understandable.- The clear display case with the set is a nice touch too.- Stunning end result that makes the build worth any of the hiccups no issue.- Very detailed for the size. It doesn’t take up as much space as I thought it would.- Excellent price for what you get.Cons:- I had quality issues with several of my pieces. Some just don't fit right; either too loose or the mold had a blemish that prevented it from being able to ‘click’ together. Like another person mentioned, the globes for the tassels & the temple topper were extremely tight and really hard to put on. Honestly after building this set my thumbs are sore 😅- Instructions are clear but can be frustrating to follow. Just one step will have 100+ pieces on it. And it gets even more complicated when they have the layered steps.- Not super stable. Nothing is more annoying than when you’re trying to build something and it keeps falling apart. There are many steps that require patience simply due to the part your working on to be fall apart due to the assembly being unstable with the steps. It was also tricky putting the island onto the base piece with breaking off any of the plants or other small items.- Unlike most building kits this one does not have the bags numbered by the steps. So expect to end up opening all the bags at once and then sorting the pieces.

Beautiful and difficult
This is absolutely beautiful when it's done. I bought and built this for my mom for mother's Day. I should have been smart and really read the description. My mom's favorite color is purple and that is what caught my eye with this one. The pieces are very small and the building process is difficult at times. Mine did come with a missing piece for the display case so instead of the case having the top, bottom, and four sides my case has three sides. But my mom can access the lights easier now so that is not a big deal. The big tree and the big floating island are very unstable. I had to hot glue some pieces on so it doesn't just fall apart. The instructions could be easier to read in my opinion too

Large pieces missing.
I opened the box to start putting this together. Immediately, I noticed the large base pieces were not included. So I can't build the project. This was bought around Christmas and given as a late present. The return rate is no longer an option. Be careful if you buy this. OPEN IMMEDIATELY to check the pieces.

Worth the money
I do agree with everyone else that the island is unstable (especially because I feel like the 6 dot piece that it's balanced on is off by a couple squares), the Chinese lantern pieces didn't fit together, a couple pieces were deformed but there were replacements, and sometimes the plants wouldn't stay on.But I had all the pieces. I had a ton of extra pieces and backups for everything. It's literally ends up just as big and cooler than the legit $160 legos and took me longer to build. I want more of them. It was probably about 12 hours of entertainment. Putting the island on was very frustrating. Don't give to anyone who isn't willing to deal with frustration and willing to be somewhat creative. I think I ended up replacing the 6 dot block holding up the island with a like 4x6 or something to shift it forward 2 dots. At some point you get mad at the plants falling off and just throw them all on at the end. Trying to put the lights/river on caused the island to fall over at least 3 times and there's not really a good way around it. Maybe look at the light/river step that's towards the end to see if you can somewhat mitigate the issue in advance. Maybe do as much of the island river as you can before attaching the island to the rest of it.I also agree that the light string is long. Consider folding in half.Would not give to anyone under like 10.
