Good logs for the price
This logset does everything I want. Note that there are 6 logs of 3 different molds, so each log is duplicated. Also, only one side is fully finished. But with a bit of creative arranging it can be made to look like 6 different logs. The photo is before burning the gas burner (it's still summer). But the gas will slowly deposit soot on the logs, and make them even more realistic. In a review someone complained that the logs were burning, but that was actually soot from the gas burner.

Affordable way to brighten your fireplace
Recently did a whitewash on my fireplace and thought my old logs looked really dirty and dark. I was looking for something to brighten the space and love the look of white birch. The logs came individually bubble wrapped. About half of each log has great detailing with the back side being more plain with minimal details.. This didn't bother me as you can only see one side anyway. It looks like you get 2 each of three different log styles so I just rotated half so they looked a little different. Overall, I'm very pleased with how it turned out and the color complements the new whitewash perfectly. Highly recommend!

Logs turn black from particulates in the natural gas
If I had kept the box for these, I would be returning them. They don't have a very good paint job but maybe that doesn't matter when they're in the fireplace. The one log I put in my gas fireplace turned black. I don't believe there's any particulate matter left over from burning natural gas, so I think it turned black from the heat.UPDATE:I did a little experimentation and discovered that the black ash is not from the ceramic logs but is actually from the natural gas itself. What I did to test this, was I took a food grade butane torch and blasted an area of the log that was white and it stayed white. Next, I blasted an area that was black from burn marks and that turned it... white. Yes, blasting it with butane turned it back to its original white color and I think that is because the butane was burning off the collected soot.

Turn black
These logs look pretty but when you light your gas fireplace and run it for 5 min or longer the logs turn black wherever the fire hits.

Turned black after first burn
Used in our gas fireplace and the logs turned pretty black after the first use. Good size and filled the whole fireplace.

Beautiful
They really pop out visually, which we wanted.

Won’t purchase again. Will be returning.
We got these logs for aesthetic and practical use. We turned the fireplace on today for about 15 min, low gas, and the logs caught on fire and released a terrible odor in our home. Ceramic shouldn’t catch on fire. Do not recommend unless you ONLY want them for aesthetic.
