Fun driving game
This is a bit different to their other products, it is much more of a game and features different cars you can drive around whether you want, they have different stats and there are also some different features like speed boosts you can put down to make more of a track.

A Bit of Fun That Kids Will Love
I like card games and I like technology, when I got the opportunity to review these cards I thought it would be something that I would enjoy trying. The cards come nicely boxed in a standard style of card box, but they are bigger than standard cards. Each one depicts a vintage car, there are 26 vehicles in total, and one explanation card. The cards themselves seem to be made of a reasonable quality card. On the backs of each card is a section of race track, so I assume that you can build a small track to drive the augmented reality cars on, but I am not entirely sure. You need to download the Cars 4D+ app to your tablet or phone, then once you have opened the app, and entered the serial number from the card in the box, you can point your phone at one of the cards with a car on and it will pop up right there in front of you. You can move around the car to look at it from all angles, and there is a VR option which I was unable to try. The cars are very good, and it is clever how it all works. You can take photos of them, and videos too. Once you have your car, you can drive it. Select drive mode, and point at a flat surface, click the bit that says "tap here"; you will enter drive mode. Click the key to turn it on, then you have lights, windscreen wipers, drive and reverse, plus a steering wheel, brake, and accelerator. Driving is a bit of fun, but it isn't really well thought out, and keeping it on a flat surface is near impossible (perhaps I just need more practice) it ends up in the air and tiny as it drives away; you can reset it to it's original starting position though. All in all, although it says age range adults, I think that kids would enjoy this more. If you can forgive the slightly flaky driving mode, this is a great idea for a novelty Christmas gift, especially at only £7.20.

Seems to be an interesting concept
Yeah it’s an interesting concept for sure. They work quite well, although I’d say nothing can ever remove the real thing!

Brilliantly Interactive!
Simply download the app, point the camera at the card and away you go! The app was easily downloaded for free from the AppStore. The cards span the alphabet so each vehicle has a different letter. Scan the card to learn more about the vehicle and once scanned it comes to life in 4D! You can even drive it around the room from your device..amazing! You are given a serial number with a maximum use on 3 devices. From within the app, you can screen-capture videos or images to share with your friends. Overall, Great fun for all audiences!

Fascinatingly clever - if you have a AR-enabled phone.
This is a really fascinating modern-tech take on card collecting. Basically, this is just a pack of cards, each with an image of a different classic car on it. But, then again, it’s much more than that! First you need to follow the directions on the box to download the app which is available in the App Store or Google Play. The box tells you to search ‘Vintage Cars 4D’ which seems to be a bit out of date or inaccurate because, when I searched for it, it was called just ‘Cars 4D’. It was easy to recognise that it was the right app though because it had the same illustration as on the front of the box (and the listing). It might have been easier if they’d just printed a QR code on the box to take you straight there. Having found and downloaded the app, you open it and allow the app access to use your camera. Then you simply point the camera at one of the cards and up pops a 3D image of that car on yourr phone screen. Very realistic and fun. Then you can swipe to a driving screen which ‘places’ your car on whatever horizontal surface you want, framed in a windscreen view. Below the windscreen, you have a series of controls including ignition key to start the motor, great shift for forward and reverse, accelerator and brake pedals and you can even turn the steering wheel. The 3D car on your phone screen actually responds to all these commands and you can ‘drive’ it around your surroundings. It’s really clever and fun. Both my photos here are screenshots from the actual app itself. (The cards come wrapped in cellophane and, since I want to give these as a gift, I didn’t want to unwrap them so I had to try it out on the top card showing in the pack - the ambulance - but I was very impressed and there are apparently 25 more cards and vehicles. A child who loves cars will be fascinated by these clever AR cards (as will a lot of grown-ups!) and they are a really good price for a ‘stocking filler’. As long as someone have access to an AR enabled phone, they’ll have great fun!

Nice but...
It is a nice 3D cards/app but as a father looking for hours of entertainment for my son I just found some minutes. It catched his attention exploring the cards and the interaction with the app but after few minutes lost all the interest on it. It is quite basic and it becomes boring so quickly.

Fun for older kids
This is the second set of cards I have received and they work easily with my iPhone, showing the animated cars immediately and helping encourage play and chat. Where it starts to get interesting is when you can start to drive the car around the room. This is fun and starts to get you using it like a physical RC car. Where the fun really starts is taking it out into an open area, you can use your phone to see the car on the road ahead and then drive it around the paths. Really this is only safe in pedestrian areas of course. But that is just as much fun as Pokémon go - and this virtual toy, is another way to encourage the kids to be taking a walk Fun and good value
