TimexMen's Ironman Classic 42mm Watch - Black Strap Digital Dial Gray Case

Just Like the Timex Ironman Watch I had in the 80's.
They now sell a steel version of this watch in Japan for about $450 USD. It is this exact watch but not in plastic like this, which was the original design. It is a decent watch and especially great for nostalgic idiots like me for a very reasonable price.

Everything seems right except...
Almost everything about the watch I received seems right and solid. However, I did notice the screws on the back are not like screws I have ever seen on any watch and they stick up farther than anything I have seen. Other online reviews of this watch suggest the screws are supposed to be the small Phillips screw. This might be a face watch or at some point the screws came off and these were put on. either way, the screws on mine are almost certainly not correct and throws the whole watch into question. I do think this is good still and it seems to be the actual Timex Ironman... just the screws were swapped out for strange and tall triangle ones.

Nostalgia
This watch is fun for nostalgias sake, but if I’m going to be honest…the Ironman Shock is better in just about every way for me.Comparing the 2, the original definitely has a slimmer profile on the wrist. The shock is much easier to read, has a better and far more robust band (it feels 3x as thick compared to the original 1986)And the buttons on the shock are much bigger and much easier to push. For any practical purpose I’d stick with the Shock and keep this one just for the sake of it. After one day of wear the shock went back on my wrist and this one went to the shelf.

This watch was not worth the price. Please read my review.
First of all, I don’t know why this watch should have any good reviews. The buttons are extremely hard to push the sound watch makes is very quiet. The light is very dim. This watch was not near worth the price I paid for it so please take my review and consideration and don’t buy this watch. It is nothing like the old ones. timex is just no good anymore

Good throwback with ok quality
Much better than the first one I received some months back. Hard to say how widespread the QC issues might be. It does feel quite similar to the original Ironman watches. The buttons are a bit stiff, but that’s better than them being too loose and at angle like before. Also, it seems like they have fixed the weird orange label issues so you can now read them.

Amazing
Wanted a replacement for my 30 year old original ironman triathlon. Very durable. Yes this was my first watch back in 1995

Bad quality and odd back plate screws??????????
I received this watch on Sunday and returned it on Monday. I was not happy with the quality of this new Ironman watch. The mode button required a hard push to change between modes and the other buttons on the side of this watch seemed a bit still as well. The buttons on the face of the watch worked fine. The main reason for my return was that the back plate screws were not phillips head screws that are shown in the picture in the description. Instead they are triangle safety screws that require a special screwdriver to remove when a battery needs to be changed. And the screw heads are taller then normal screw heads in other watches. I don't understand why Timex felt they needed at this time to put safety screws in this watch. I've been a watch collector for over 30 years , mainly Casio watches and this was the first time I saw screws like this on a watch.

Good watch, wrong size
Watch was fine, typical timex, however was not the 42mm as advertised, more like 36mm
