Works well with EOS R5 with Canon Adapter
I bought this adapter to connect a Helios M44-2 to a Canon EOS R5. I already have the EF to R Adapter, So this attaches to the Canon Adapter. Although you have to manually focus, you get some focus indicator lights that show when you have achieved focus.. or are turning the focus ring the wrong way.It works well, seems well made for the price. Glad to recommend to connect to an EF Canon or EOS R with an EF Adapter.I also bought a K&F Concept adapter for the R5.. The Focus assist lights do not work with the K&F adapter.

IT KILLED MY CAMERA - DO NOT BUY
IT KILLED MY 1 MONTH OLD CAMERA! I am quite angry. Perhaps understandably given what just happened? I would use lots of very bad words beginning with F right now but amazon won't let me do that so you'll have to use your imagination instead. It worked brilliantly with my EOS 100D, no issues at all there. However I put it on my EOS M6 via an adapter, and started to get lens errors every time I took a shot. Weird...As instructed by the camera, I reseated the lens adapter a few times, after which my 1 month old EOS M6 no longer turns on or responds to anything - completely and utterly DEAD. No power, not even the LED blinks, no voltage out from the lens data logic pins, doesn't even enumerate over usb. Just a completely and utterly dead camera as a very expensive paperweight now.My suspicions based upon looking at the marks on the copper contacts are that the tolerances on the adapter's chip are out by a bit when it was glued onto the adapter, as in the lens chip rotates too far across, and so that let the power lines short to the data lines, killing my camera in the process. Maybe it blew a fuse, maybe it fried the CPU, who knows, what I can say for sure is my 1 month old EOS M6 is farked now. Completely dead. So yeah - if you don't want your camera to become a paperweight, don't buy this!!!

AF confirm adapter works well.
Used these on some 40 yr old lenses on my Canon 760D. I am pleasantly surprised. The focus confirm works better with well lit/high contrast images though, so be prepared for the once or twice where the camera doesn't confirm focus.I have found that using a wide aperture...focusing, then stopping down works well, even though not ideal. Just an FYI....keep your finger on the shutter button 'half-way' pressed position so that your camera monitors focus as you adjust the manual focus. It will then beep when you are focused.Would buy again. They seem well made, fit well, not loose fit 'wobble' at all.

Happy as it allows me to use old wide aperture ...
Works well. Fits well and allows AF confirm to work! Happy as it allows me to use old wide aperture Pentacon lenses on my EOS450D. But I should have read the description properly since it doesn't include EOS650D and above. It will not work on my 650D. The camera either throws an error about communication to the lens being faulty or provides an information notice that a firmware upgrade should be completed and won't let you operate the camera. [Boo! Shame on Canon for not providing a manual override of the lens communication functions, or at least I can't find it in the menus yet.] So - if you camera is not in the list of cameras it works with - you can assume that it won't work. I understand from trawling t'internet that the ones without the AF confirm function should allow them to be used on such cameras (but clearly you are on your own for focusing which, on fast lenses, might well be tricky). Given it only four stars since I’m not too convinced on the finish quality of the PCBs for the AF confirm function and it remains to be seen what the lifetime is like. But – I’m probably being picky.

Almost perfect
Great item for setting auto focus. Some times you want to shoot handheld through the view finder and this nailed focus 9 times out of 10. I love vintage lenses and adapting to digital, if you don't shoot mirrorless and don't have focus peaking then this is the best option. I found it great used on my Canon 6D mk2 and my 80D but it did not work on my 6D mk1. Before the purchase I was missing focus on 40% of my photo's not it's nearer to 5%.Excellent Item for the price.

Second time lucky?
UPDATE - replacement works.Original review:I'm currently only giving this one star for two reasons; firstly it worked for two shots then stopped, with constant error messages from my camera saying that the lens contacts need cleaning. They don't need cleaning, the product is faulty (tried on different cameras, same result). The second reason is that there is no option to return for a replacement, just a refund, which is a pain, as I now have to buy a replacement before I get my refund. Ok so it is cheap, but it is the principle I'm annoyed at.With so many positive reviews I'm hoping this is just a faulty product, so have ordered another one in the hope that one works fine. If it does, I'll amend this review accordingly. If it doesn't, I'll buy elsewhere.Update 30th OctoberOK - the replacement arrived today and straight away this looked to be better made - the chip contact strip looked like it belonged, rather than as an afterthought. Popped it on and everything worked. Fired off several shots, and took it off and on again a few times, and all is good. I'll keep an eye on it and update again if things change. I've updated this review from one star to three as it now seems to work, but won't put it to 5 stars due to the way the issue was handled - I couldn't get a replacement, I had to organise a return for a refund and do a separate new purchase, so currently out of pocket.

Not worth the risk
The idea seems good. But the chip used is low quality. My 60d and 5d MK1 had trouble with this one, the aperture value jumped from 1.4 to 1.2 erratically and I feared there was a chance of damage so I disconnected the adapter. There are plenty of non-chipped adapters that seem a better idea.

Perfetto.

Was able to use it right away without any issues.

Good value and would buy again
Fit my Pentax M42 lens perfectly and the chip produced the f1.4 as desired. The thing is well made and there is no play when it is attached to my 7D. Good value and would buy again.
