Slides easy, good spring tension

I used one of these for a gate. They are very well made and sturdy. The only issue was some of the round barrel is exposed and I could not mount the latch far enough from the strike plate. Solution = I reground the taper so it starts at the edge of the housing. Now the latch works perfectly and should last many years.

Perfect for keeping our toddler from opening the gate. We mounted it on the side he cannot reach, but wanted something that would still be difficult for him to unlatch should he be able to get to the lock. This fits the bill perfectly and has been very reliable.

My pre-built shed came with a double swinging door. These replaced the standard spring latch pins that came with it. Now when I close the door it automatically latches. I tied a cord between the two new bolt latches (mounted top and bottom) so that if I just tug on the string they unlatch and the door can open (see video). I would recommend using screws as long as you can get away with for mounting them. (In my case, on the bottom latch, I couldn't use the bottom two screw holes and so have put a mending plate over both side flanges.) I also recommend a small amount of silicone lube on the moving parts because they slide so much better after a little lube and will hold up better outdoors.

Fit and finish is supreme. These are worthy of an interior finish if they had a slightly different design. Tolerances feel tight, edges are crisp but clearly some hand work went into them because they’re devoid of burrs. Holes are nicely countersunk. Comes with stainless screws as well. Fabulous quality

Nice smooth action, but not alot of throw. so you have to mount it perfectly in order to hold but not interfere with the door.

I used this to provide a positive latching mechanism for our attic pulldown that had lost a little bit of it's spring tension after a home renovation. Rather than going though all of the headach of replacing the springs, the swing arms, or (heaven forbid), the entire pull-down ladder, I added a couple of these to hold the lid closed, and they work wonderfully. The tension on the springs are good, the baseplates are solid (and have a little 'slope' build right into them), and attach securely.

These little beauties worked well for holding some door louvers closed in a shack. Exactly what I needed. Zang!

Simple, clean, practical design made of strong materials for durability. Unobtrusive and enhances security. Always had a problem with locking double doors, as people forget to lock upper bolt, so closing the door will automatically lock it in place, allowing the deadlock to do its work properly.

I like the smooth ness of the sliding mechanism and the springs tension. I used it for what it was intended.
