COWBOY CARTER OFFICIAL VINYL

I loved this. Brilliant. FYI, I've never owned any other Beyoncé music. (I've heard some stuff on the radio and thought it was ok.) This is my first. Her version of the Beatles Blackbird was wonderful. Jolene too. What a talent.

My daughter in California turned me on to this cd I sent as gifts to sis and bil before it won best album they enjoyed them!

This album is no more "Country" than the very talented alternative music of "The Maveriks". Delightfully versatile, just one more genius Beyoncé production in yet another new format. No wonder my country lovin music friends don't like it and I'm sorry it took me this long to listen to it and purchase. Love the syncopation in Riverdance and Sweet Honey Buckiin (Beyoncé & Shaboozey).

Everything was fine with the CD.

As other reviewers have stated, the limited CD does not have all the songs that are available on streaming services. My review here isn't about the music (I really like this album and would rate it 4 out of 5 stars, but at how poorly marketed and packaged it was. When I purchased the CD there was no track listing on Amazon.com, so I assumed (wrongly) that I'd be getting the same songs as the streaming version of the album. But when I received the CD today, not only is the CD case only marked as "Beyoncé" but there's no track listing on the back of the CD case or within the inside linear notes (there's a QR code that takes you to a website with the CD's track listing). Songs that are missing for the limited edition CD: Spaghettii The Linda Martell Show Ya Ya Oh Louisiana And one song is one the limited edition CD but not on the streaming version of the album (at least not as of 4/16/24): Mr. Sir If I would have known that I'd not be getting all the songs on the CD, I would have purchased the CD from 7digital.com and been able to get all the songs as FLAC files more than a week ago. So be sure you know what you're getting into when you buy the limited edited CD.

After listening to this album I can safely say that 'I get it now'. I get why people like Beyonce. She's insanely talented and creative, both of which shine through here. The closest thing I can compare it to is the Beatles' White Album in terms of scope, creativity, and breadth. A rather fitting comparison since she does an excellent cover version of the Beatles song 'Blackbird', which was featured on the White Album. Rather than simply put out a quote-unquote 'country' album, Beyonce takes the trappings of the country genre and adds them to her oeuvre to create a musical medley. Is it country? Yes. Is it more than that? Quite so! This album comes highly recommended and is already a contender for my best album of the year.
