When wet doesn't drip over everything.

I bought this cooling towel for the uv protection and the evaporative cooling factor. I made a sleeve for my arm that always burns up when I’m driving and this works great for that purpose.

These do work ok, not great. I thought they would stay cooler longer. But they do help.

This is a great cooling towel that does help in the heat. My stress test was a 40 mile bicycle ride in the late afternoon heat. I'm more susceptible to the heat than I used to be and a couple of days earlier I cut a ride short because of the heat. On this day, I decided I really needed to use this towel and see how much help it could give me. I soaked the towel in water and put it around my neck and tucked the ends into the front of my jersey. I could feel the water dripping off the towel into my jersey and it was very cool. My route was an out and back with rolling hills, some shady tree lined sections but also some flat, fully exposed sunny stretches. The temperature on the bike was 95F and climbing going out and I had some 103F readings in the exposed sunny parts. After the initial dripping, the towel still felt cool and wet but my jersey was completely dry despite my sweating. Even with 103F, I didn't feel as bad or drained as I'd felt a couple of days earlier. After 45 minutes the towel was still damp and cool but I was passing through a park and took the opportunity to soak the towel again at a fountain and I was back to being super cooled again for a bit. At the halfway point I soaked the towel again and the ride back was about an hour and a half with the temperature starting to drop. By the end, the temperature in the shade was finally down to about 85F and the towel still felt damp and cool on me when I squeezed it. Not as cool as when I first soaked it but still doing some work and I never felt overheated. This towel was large but light and held its moisture for a long time. It definitely helped keep me cool during a long exercise.
