Easy to use product
Used to cover in an old fireplace prior to a wood burner being fitted. So easy to use and easy to apply. Even now after a year, no cracks at all. Great value for money.

Does what it says on the tub
Bought to repair after removing an old fireplace. Mixed in small batches using the weight to water ratio as instructed. Found it very easy to use and I am a DIYer, will be coating again prior to placing the inset panel

Vitcas Fireproof Screed
Found dealing direct with Vitcas a little strange at first for I had tried to by the product on line without success, however staff very polite and goods despatched same day, for next day delivery.

Not very good value
Hard to get a decent finish. Very expensive for the coverage it achieves.

Genuinely awful product
I’ve been plastering for over ten years now, and thought I would give this a go to render some block work on the inside of a fireplace where a log burner was being installed. Not only does it have poor adhesion, it’s filled with so much thick gravel if you’re looking at using a render finish for a rustic look you’ve got no chance… I ended up having to scrape it off in the end making an absolute mess. Just reading the comments from other plasters on the forums confirm this stuff is awful. I’ll be sticking with lime and cement render in future…. Avoid
