I purchased thinking it was the Nova brand. I recieved the item and tried it. Not only did it not color anything in 10 mins,my scalp was on fire. It's burned and made my head itch even after I washed twice. Not worth the money

UPDATE: Not temporary! After two weeks, it has not washed out. New grey growth is starting, which I will need to cover. While the dark brown I purchased previously did fade after a few washes, the black does not fade! I still love this product but proceed with caution. If you want a temporary, go with the brown.I found this product originally on FB. I bought it in dark brown. It took 3 attempts over the course of a week to get it all covered and I learned that it needs more than 15 minutes. The dark brown was not dark enough and I was getting compliments on the red in my hair so I went on Amazon and discovered they sell Nova Hair and it was $10 cheaper. I decided to try and match my dark brown with black since the brown was lighter on my resistant grey. It worked on the grey and turned it brown but the rest of my hair is black. I can work with either one really. I'm pulling an ombre look with the brown or the black.Here are some tips.First, it comes out clear so don't be alarmed. Second, it stains skin so wash it off as you go. Third, as this is my 4th time using this product, go longer than 15 minutes. Think 30 ish minutes or more for resistant grey. Fourth, you will use more product than the ads say. Expect to buy it monthly depending on hair length. Fifth, follow up with a good shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. I use Biolage and then follow up with Paul Mitchell skinny serem before brushing my hair out. It looks healthy and natural. Sixth, the black stains porcelain sinks. I was cleaning up as I went, with cleaner and magic eraser but it still stained my sink. I will be applying my next application over my stainless steel laundry room sink.

I tried this product, but it didn’t work at all. It’s not effective for coloring gray hair. If that’s your goal, I wouldn’t recommend buying it. I feel like I wasted my money.

First time I used it I only left it in my roots for 6 mins and it didn’t cover the grey. 2nd time I tried it I left it on for almost 15 mins and it worked great. Now 3rd time instead of the shampoo coming out of the bottle dark brown it’s clear and I’ve shaken the bottle to mix it up but wondering if it’ll still work not being dark colored just clear.

I did not expect this product to work. I am 50 with dark brown hair and lots of greys. I hated to start coloring my hair because of all the harsh chemicals that I knew would ruin my healthy shiny hair. I saw this product and decided to give it a try, I am delighted that it covered the greys and left my hair in beautiful condition. There is no over-powering chemical smell . I suspect that major hair color brands do not want this product to succeed. They have the power to flood the online space with bad reviews. I hope you will try it.

I'm not much a products review, but this one definitely made me take the time to share my opinion. The product states that doest stain ski which is completely false, see it by the pictures. It does its job pretty well though so that why I have it 4 stars but definitely it is a skin stain product if you aren't careful enough while applying it. My hand stained in less than 1 minute into application. The box instructions stated no gloves necessary so I followed directions and here we go, my had turned stained without being able to just wash it off. As far the hair color it it pretty good, 5 minutes and it was done...oh by the way, my face skin was started to stain so I washed or off immediately within 5 minutes otherwise I would have ended up with a huge dark stain around my face. Use this product carefully and timing your self to not more than 5 minutes applications and don't spread it all over the face as it shows on the commercial. Apply only to the hair areas specially on the face and wear gloves. Hope this helps to those interested .

This doesn’t work as they claim. Useless product. Buying this was a mistake.

Okay so I have extremely stubborn grays, when I use box dye I have to leave it in my hair for 1.5 hours. So knowing this I slathered it into my dry hair directly on the gray roots, and left it on for an hour. Came out perfect. This was going to be my alternative to dying sometimes, but I just might keep using this instead. By the way, I have natural hair, currently in knotless braids, and now my roots look great!
