Well built light from a great company
Surefire is well built, buy American. I've had another Surefire light for 12 years and it still works perfectly, but it is older technology and it shows compared to this new Surefire. The newer LED technology is amazing how much light they emit. Battery that is included is high quality and the flashlight will also work with my other 18650 batteries. I have not tried CR123 batteries yet, so I can't speak for that aspect. Good peripheral light, with a good spot beam for targeting at least 50-75 yards in my trials with good target identification. When you are comparing lights for purchase, make sure you have determined what your needs are beforehand and compare lumens AND candella. A higher candella with a lower lumen may mean you have a good spot beam but limited peripheral lighting. It's not ALL about the lumens. And I have tried this light inside my home in the dark and in my opinion, it is a great defense light.

Surefire quality and very bright!
This is my 7th Surefire light over the last 20+ years. This 600DF is lightweight, reliable, crazy bright with excellent spread up close, and works great on a rifle or when handheld. I wouldn't recommend it as an up close work light as it's just too much light, and there's no low setting like on some lights.I count on Surefire quality. Inexpensive Chinese lights are bargains for general use but I won't put my life or others at risk with those. I've seen too many fail.Mine came from seller Gear Meister with proper Surefire packaging, instructions, Surefire SF18650 battery, and charger with AC and DC (12v lighter adapter plug) connectors.

There is a reason SureFire is used by military/police forces around the world.
I never write reviews for products I buy, simply because there are plenty out there. But after reading the guy below mines 1 star review I had to. Yes you need a T8 star Allen key to get the Picatinny rail mount off to attach to a Scout mount. But they cost $8 for a set at any home store. As for the mount that comes with the light, I suggest you dont use it. Not because it isnt good but because it sticks the light out to far from the rail. I suggest you get a Arisaka Inline Scout Mount for it. It brings it really snug to the rail and makes it look better and its less likely get snagged on things. My M600DF came with a SF18650A rechargeable battery and charger. Which is great since you can save on buying batteries. But even if you decide to go with CR123A batteries you just need to buy a pack of 10 or so and you will be set for years. This light is meant to be used sparing to blind or identify threats/targets. So you wont be needing it on for hours at a time. With 1500 Lumens you can blind/disorient targets easily. Even the 1200 Lumens will get the job done easily. SureFire builds lights like tanks so the reliability of the light cant be matched. The only con is that it dosent come with a tape switch. And SureFire charges a lot for one unfortunately. But it is not required since you can just mount it a few inches back and just use your thumb to click it on and off. But you get what you pat for. I personally only use SureFire for my rifle lights and Streamlight for handguns since you dont need crazy Lumens for handgun distances. All weapons need lights for one simple reason, you cant shoot what you cant identify. Not to mention most bad guys do bad stuff at night. This light is perfect for home defense. You can be 100% sure that when you hit that switch it will go on and go on strong. Dont waste your money on other lights, save up for this. Oh and be sure to get the new M600DF model since with the amazing Lumens you can identify targets at grater ranges and thru smoke/grass/other obstructions easier since are able to push thru. Not to mention during situations where the target might be back lit, you need to overpower the other light source.

Can’t Beat a Surefire
I purchased this with extreme hesitation. I’ve heard all the stories about how it’s going to be a fake or counterfeit. I’m here to tell you that this is 100% American made Surefire. This thing is built like a tank and is as bright as they come. You are paying for the name but you get what you pay for and you get the highest quality when you buy Surefire.

High price, high quality.
The M600-DF is a very high quality light. From the small details like the packaging to the light itself, I have yet to find a single tool mark, blemish, or something to complain about and I just can't find anything. Surefire is a awesome product.

Surefire finally caught up!
All that time waiting for Surefire, they finally released a WML in 18650.The throw/flood is a perfect balance in comparison with Streamlight HL-X, which the latter lacks. The HL-X boasts throw over flood, leading to FOV issues hindering any functional applications on a purpose-built rifle.Surefire M600DF is a no-nonsense momentary/one-click to 1,500 Lumens right away with the included 18650 battery.M600DF balances applicability between situational awareness, combined with the right amount of throw. All in all, I am glad I waited for Surefire to pull through, and though light is not as focused, it is much more applicable.P.S. (Would've knocked a star for the charger but this review is for the light, not the accessories. The charger it comes with barely fits regular 18650's with flat-faced positive/negative end. The Surefire 18650 has a positive end that sticks out slightly further than a standard AA/AAA battery. As such, the included SF battery can not go fully into the SF charger. The positive end of the battery will stick out, and though the charger will still charge the battery, this is a problem. My solution was the Nitecore I2/I4 intellicharger which completely houses the SF battery, and shows levels of charge).

Legit Surefire product; *phew not a fake*
I own / operate various Surefire Scout lights. This one is the same quality and came with the same packaging items as all other lights. I was timid to try this as name brand Surefire from Amazon can be hit or miss. This seller / product is not a fraud. Fit, finish and function are IDENTICAL to my other Surefire. Literally; phew I’m glad it wasn’t a scam.
