I chose this shoe stretcher because it has a few extra holes for plugs. I wanted the option to stretch the top of the toe area, and this does the trick! I wear a woman's 9 (40 in EU sizes), and it is a snug fit lengthwise. It probably wouldn't fit into a smaller shoe without lifting the heel. Overall, I'm really pleased!

The shoe stretcher comes with 4 bunion plugs, one instep stretcher insert, instructions, a draw-string stow bag, and a long shoe horn. I could not find any mention of the instep stretcher in the instructions, but it is clearly shown and identified in the ad. I got the shoe stretcher to loosen up a pair of my wife's size nine sneakers. She had specific areas near her big toe and pinky that were binding. I was able to attach bunion plugs in those trouble spots to give her a little more room in those areas. It is easy to adjust the stretch of the width separately from the stretch of the length. The unit is made out of some pretty tough plastic. Many of the internal pieces are metal. The whole thing is fairly heavy and held together with screws and bolts. I was able to add a good bit of tension without any issues. I am very happy with how many adjustments it has and how durable it seems to be.

I have an old-school wooden stretcher, but this one is much better. It comes with clear instructions, but it is very intuitive to use. The two controls are easy to turn and are easily accessible. The construction and design are excellent.I have a bunion on my foot, and this stretcher helps create room in my shoe. I need to stretch all the shoes I purchase. The best part is the design, where the controls protrude out the top of the boot.
