This is a brilliant book. I'm a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) moving from health visiting into school nursing, I got this book as a pre-interview information and reading resource. A very professional book indeed, that refers to local and national guidelines throughout. Chapters on all aspects of SCPHN / school nurse practice - such as child protection and dealing with challenging situations. A very skillful balance between academic information, guidance and personal experience. The 8 professionals who wrote this book (as highlighted at the beginning) should be extremely proud of themselves. Anybody working in public health, school nursing or SCPHN - this book is a fantastic resource for you. Great for assignment writing too, lots of useful and relevant reference material. A very happy purchase.

Bought to read more about school nursing and public health, before applying to study the specialist community practice health nursing post graduate course, very thorough and a good insight into the roles and responsibilitys of school nurses.

I am currently studying for the SCPHN degree and wish I had found this book at the beginning, brilliant resource and full of easy to understand information. Have recommended it to colleagues and students.
