It's a beast!!
I took my time doing research and spent about 2 months before purchasing. Its an expensive machine but if you know what you want and this is it, get it and puchase the case too!! It is smaller in person then you might expect, for me that was a plus. I like the portability and power it has. I went with the 64gb model and its been able to do everything Ive thrown at it. Have communicated with the seller a few times before and after purchase. They've been quick to reply and so far had great customer service. This device comes set at 28w and the fan runs fast from the factory. 1st thing you should do upon receiving it is open Motion Assist and set the tdp lower and turn on fan curve 1. I generally run it at 10w and the fan curve reduces fan speed drastically. Alot of youtube reviews say it runs hot, if you run it at 28-35tpd it will get hot but I dont find it to be uncomfortable. Its the length of my phone, 1.3x the width and 2x the height, basically its a bit bigger then a 3ds xl with the capability of running any game Ive tested at low to medium settings. If youre thinking about it, want a great clamshell handheld pc and have the funds you won't be disappointed. Buttons and triggers feel quality. Screen is sharp and vivid. Battery is a bit small but get a 100w+ power bank. I almost waited for the gpd win 5 with a better cpu and higher price but the ergonomics of a clamshell are unbeatable for my use. The ai 9 hx 370 is still a great contender and more powerful then the z2 extreme chip in the latest rog ally x. One of the things I reached out to the seller about was the ssd being upgradable. There is one ssd slot and it is upgradable. Plan to put an 8tb in soon. I decided to go with this seller for the quick replys and fast shipping. With tariff uncertainty and ordering from the manufacturer its a gamble on how much the final cost would be upon receiving it and would of been weeks or month/s to receive it. I reached out to dxglobal recently and asked about the ayn thor. Hopefully they get that in stock soon at a reasonable price. To wrap it up, so far Ive been very happy with my purchase and its became my most used device besides the phone. If your looking for an insanely capable clamshell handheld this is it. No occulink but has thunderbolt 4. Can run an epgu but so far I havent needed too. Don't be one of those guys that buys it and returns it without any issues. Nice things cost money and being a good consumer is just as important as being a good seller. Do your research before you buy and make sure its what you're looking for.

Hardware is great, but blame Microsoft for Windows Modern Standby
* New BIOS and EC/SuperIO update has configurable charge limit that works reliably * S3 suspend and resume works perfectly on Linux * Windows 11 S0 low-power idle does not work reliably. Hibernate is acceptable, but with 32/64GB RAM, that’s a lot of uneeded writes. Disabling modern standby does not re-enable S3 as I hoped. This is a Microsoft policy. * There’s a cable for the fan and speakers connecting the backplate to the mainboard when you open it up. I am thankful it is quite tough, because I accidentally tugged on it opening it up * There’s some thermal tape or something covering the SSD, so I ended up not swapping it out just yet. There’s a WD SN740 in mine. * Bazzite works well. The speakers sound better on Windows with the DTS drivers * The buttons and keyboard all feel very nice to use * Screen is very nice, though 120Hz is overkill for a handheld now that I have been using it * It fits in my pockets, but is a tight fit I wouldn’t recommend this device to everybody. I’ve always wanted something like this since I was a kid. My current lifestyle, I don’t have that much time for sitting at my desktop to play games and I’m always up and about during the day. This is perfect for me to finally play some of the games on my Steam backlog that I otherwise never seem to have time for.

Amazing device for portable computing and gaming
Fantastic device. I watched probably every YouTube video and after a year I went for it. Plays all of my steam games at 60+fps at 720p and some at 1080p. Emulators work well too and I can play PS2 games at 4 watts. Battery lasts quite a while if you pay attention and adjust as needed. I have gotten used to Motion Controls boring UI and it mostly works well. Occasional glitches but very useful. It will get warm at 20 watts but I’ve found most game play great at around 12 watts. At that power it gets warm but it’s nothing unexpected. Overall really pleased and I’d recommend them to anyone. I may even get a Win Max 2 when the 2025 370 is on Amazon.

Mini pc that works
It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I don't like windows 11, but the fact that it runs it goes to say how power full it is. The keyboard is kinda small, as in I can't use it as well as my pc keyboard which sucks. Especially if you wanna try a code with it which is low-key one of the reasons I got it. The best way I can describe it is by saying it's a mini pc which you can carry around. So yeah I've always dreamed if having something like this as a kid. I did have a problem with it not wanting to charge just now so that had me worried, but it's charging now so I think it's good 😅

Unreliable, broken garbage from a garbage manufacturer.
It is a scam of a company, dont but their products. Device wont go 5 mins without crashing. You would think people would test their products...I guess not.

Excellent performance for size and well designed
What can I say, this thing is just a refined version of the previous version, but with minor improvements like the repositioning of the mouse/controller switch to the main deck, slightly better speakers and a slightly brighter display. But the main improvement is the APU. I'm by no means a super geek when it comes to knowing how the specs of one machine compare to every other. What I can tell you is for the size and portability, the performance is impressive and thermals well managed. In almost every task, whether it be gaming or multimedia work, I never experienced any throttling, even when I turned up the TDP. Only thing I'd improve is to further improve the speakers, make the screen a bit brighter and add a clicking trackpad, to improve trackpad functionality when not using the analog sticks. TL;DR: not much more than a refined and updated spec version of the previous model, but in this case, that's a good thing.

It is quite amazing how GPD have managed to squeeze this hardware in to this form factor. I wanted something extremely portable to play games but also to work in case of an emergency while out and about. I used to play around with Unity and wanted to try and find the time to pick this up again (my commute suited). After trying to find reviews with images of how practical this would actually be on this size screen and keypad I decided to just try it. Although it obviously can't compare to a full size keyboard and screen it does a surprisingly good job. I have added photos of Unity at both 150% and 100% scale using 1920x1080 resolution in case anyone else finds this useful. Also, I forgot to add a promotion at checkout so contacted Droix who were super responsive and helpful. Thank you.

The form factor is perfect for travel. The keys are a bit small for regular use, but it basically does everything my larger WinMax2 2024 unit does. Both are amazing computers. Both have different fortes. The WinMini is easier to hold and makes a great handheld gaming machine, the WinMax2 makes a great small work laptop. Both can do the job of the other if needed, but it is easier to type on the larger keyboard of the WinMax2. On the other hand, the size of the WinMini is better for handheld games. Both have the same 8840CPU and 32 gb of RAM. I have 6TB of storage on the WinMax2 and 2TB on the WinMini. I bought both from the same seller and they have been absolutely wonderful to deal with. I had some problems with the WinMax2 and adroit was super responsive and helpful in helping resolve the issues. I’ve had no trouble with the WinMini. Either device are fantastic, and Droix is super supportive. I would highly recommend any GPD device they sell. I love mine. Check out the photos that I attached - you can see the WinMini is not much larger than an iPhone 15 ProMax, but it is about 1/2 the size of a GPD Win Max

I'm a game developer by trade and I find myself these days commuting 3hrs a day on the train. This laptop allowed me to work on all my side projects during the commute without the hassle of juggling controllers. Its like I have bought my free time back. Having both touch screen, touch pad, and mouse control from the joysticks makes it really easy to work with, even when wearing gloves in the winter. I'm going around recommending it to all my collegues at work!
