I am a laymen, i cannot define performance, power, mpg or longevity in any tangible means, much like many of the other reviewers though they purport vague feelings of the vehicle. ("...my truck hates these plugs...") i can't imagine one brand of sparkplug definitively being better than another, or operating in one vehicle brand more efficiently over another vehicle brand. Having said that, copper, platinum & iridium do each have their place in technology standards, but the ability to cause fowling, burnholes in cylinder heads, hesitation, overheated plugs or poor performance is a bit far fetched for me. Unless you have a high performance vehicle or heavy towing demands i cant see these plugs not working for you. If you do have a high-performance vehicle i'd imagine you would look elsewhere for info, rather than my 2 cents & the lame endorsements of someone's anecdotal evidence. I put these in an '07 chrys 300C, took out original champion copper plugs with 45k on them, aside from the electrode being burnt down to .50 gap seemed to be working fine. Replaced them on the age and mile factor alone. These new Bosch platinum plugs are pregapped at .44 though I regap them to .42 on a blog recommendation, are also appearing to operate the vehicle just fine. May I suggest that others who think anything other than OEM is harming their vehicle is unsubstantiated, and may have multiple issues with their vehicle other than a spark plug. My sole reason for choosing these plugs were so that I do not have to change them as often. The manual suggest every 32k on oem copper plugs, and I extended it to 45k out of laziness and no perceptible problems with the original plugs. Unlike cars of years past the plugs were relatively easy to get to & replace on the 300C, and I rather prefer the coil packs to spark plug wires which I've always managed to damage in the past and needed to replace on previous vehicles. Coil packs seem to be Plug and Play. I might also suggest all of these brand names are just business decisions and reciprocal product agreements rather than performance issues. (Years past i was told only NGK's in my japanese cars & that was OEM, i ran AC delco's because they were cheaper. Still never had a problem). In conclussion if you're a person on a budget like me, drive a typical sedan (even with a V8) these are fine plugs & are not budget plugs imo. If you're driving that vette, hellcat or some hopped up pickup that you like to scream past traffic with, you may want the OEM plugs, but i cant recognize a difference, and can unequivocally say aftermarket plugs did not and do not harm my engine or its performance.

I was a bit unsure about the gap. It states plainly "do not gap" on these. The original AC/Delco plugs (31 years old!!!) were set at 0.035. I mic'd them when I took them out and they were a bit wider than that (0.038-0.040), but my guess is that was due to metal vaporizing off the electrodes after 31 years of firing. The new Bosch plugs were all pretty much dead on at 0.050. I left them as is and installed them with a bit of anti-seize then fired it up. Ran just great and seemed smoother. I figured one of the 8 original plugs wasn't always firing since it seemed a bit rough on idle. Not noticing any roughness so far, so maybe that was the issue. Either way, after 31 years the old truck deserved a new set of plugs.
