Lamp works perfectly. It's rechargeable and it's bright. You can use it attached to the case or standing alone. They are sturdy mirrors.

This makeup case is so perfect for travel, but because the mirror is removable it’s useful for everyday use as well. My mom has one with a fixed, unremovable mirror and it’s clumsy to charge as well as hard to get that perfect angle to do makeup. That’s why I wanted this one when I saw it. I especially like the suction cup magnification mirror that comes with it. Once you’ve used one for makeup or tweezing you can never go without again. It can be used on its own or attached to the case in either the portrait or landscape orientation. Attach the suction mag mirror to the large mirror. The mirror stores in the zipper pocket of the lid to keep it protected. The dividers are removable and can be repositioned to separate sections for a perfect fit. The fabric is fine. I think I would prefer a polyurethane/faux leather but I really love this case anyways. It would make a great gift, too.
