It's Sturdy... and made very strong.
My chair arrived, box looked like it'd been on a few journeys! So I checked it all over and made sure everything was correct & checked bolts and connectors was OK. !And that's where I couldn't get one of bolts to screw in ( glad I checked first ) because the internal thread was clearly not good. And it was never going to work ss it should...So I'm in the process of returning it to amazon. Now, all that said, this chair is clearly a sturdy chair. And I'll be re- ordering another one.Infact I'd of settled for a replacement of the fault...But I gotta send it back apparently...Apart from my fault on chair, this looks to be a very good transfer chair.P.S. always check your connecting parts first...

A Sturdy and Well-Designed Commode Transfer Chair
This truly is a seriously strong and very well designed piece of equipment that will not only help to preserve the self esteem and modesty of infirm and disabled patients but will also significantly enhance the day-to-day life of care givers.Firstly I think it is worth mentioning that the Chair will arrive in a large and really heavy box, something to perhaps bear in mind so that you can be prepared to accept delivery to a suitable area. When the chair arrived it was a lovely dry and sunny day so my partner and I decided to put it together on the lawn. We are both pretty handy at DIY and we had the Chair erected in about 15 minutes. But I would add that I think it does need at least one pretty strong person to help with this as some of the screws needed strength to secure them into position. The Chair itself feels very solid, safe and secure, and I would say that it is something that is the size and quality of a device you would expect to find in a Hospital or Care Home. If you are thinking about using this in a home environment I would recommend that you carefully check the measurements of the chair to make sure it will fit everywhere you need it to go, you can only really transfer a person from a bed (or a chair without arms), the bed (or chair) must have clearance underneath so that the transfer chair can get up close to the patient, the same goes for the space around the toilet, there must be enough space either side of the toilet to allow the chair to come close enough to the toilet pan.I have found that the Transfer chair is very easy to use and its simplicity itself to transfer a person from a bed and into the chair, the device was easy to push, steer and manoeuvre to where I needed it to go.One thing I have found when sitting in it myself is that it isn't very comfortable to sit on, it's just cold hard metal with a hole in the middle so I feel it could be greatly improved if a waterproof padded cushion was included, or maybe offered as an optional extra.I ordered the Transfer Chair as I thought it would help my Dad to take care of my disabled mum but unfortunately I had forgotten about the radiator in their bathroom, which sadly prevents the chair from getting close enough to the toilet. I will be donating the chair to our local NHS Hospital where I am very certain it will be a great asset.I have given this chair 5 stars which I have based on the excellent build quality, design and ease of use.For your confidence in this Vine Voice review, I am under no obligation as to what I can or cannot write and I only ever leave honest and unbiased reviews whether they be good or bad.Thank you for reading this review and I hope you find it helpful.

Not fit for small people
Heavy unit doesn't fit close coupled toilet very well and seat cuts in to the bum

Very solid and flexible
The media could not be loaded. This is a very solid multi-function commode of the type you are likely to find in a care home or hospital, but could also be used in the home. It took my wife a little over 15 minutes to set up and although I could have done it by myself this is definitely easier done in two.Regarding the assembly, I thought the instructions could have been a lot clearer with larger print and maybe a link to a thorough video walkthrough. Also a couple of the supplied tools were pretty hopeless and we were fortunate to have better alternatives available. Some people trying to set this up will be elderly and need all the guidance they can get.Once assembled, there is no doubt this is a solid and versatile commode that can also be used for bed transfers. The seat is height adjustable and it comes with handles the patient can use to support themselves, plus there is a quick set block on the wheels that can be released by pressing with your foot. The slim base that the person sits on seems very hard indeed and I really think it could use an option to attach some kind of shaped cushion there. Another observation is that the commode is not the easiest to manoeuvre if your home environment is a tight space. We are dealing with a relative who requires 24/7 help with just about everything and it’s hard work. Overall it’s a good choice if you sadly need something like this, but could be that bit better with some tweaks as suggested.

Easy to assemble but quite large for an average sized home
This commode/toilet chair was ordered for use with a family member with reduced mobility. I liked the idea that this would assist in toilet trips and help with moving from the bed to a chair and back. The chair is fairly easy to assemble but much easier with two people. Once assembled the chairs height is adjustable, using the turning handles, to suit the the height of the bed or chair. To adjust the height it takes a while so seems best suited to keeping at one height if possible. The seat part of the chair is very hard and uncomfortable so we have fashioned a cushion of sorts to help with this but i would have thought it should have been included. The commode part is handy for whe it might take too long to get to the toilet or the toilet is not accessible using the chair. The chair is handy for moving around the home if everything you need to access is on one level but it is a sturdy and heavy piece of equipment so not suitable for carrying up and down the stairs.Good chair/commode if you have the space to accommodate it.

Sturdy chair and very helpful
The chair is sturdy and well-built, providing excellent support for disabled or elderly individuals during transfers. The integrated patient lift function is particularly useful, making transitions from bed to chair smoother and safer.
