however was a little disappointed by the quality of the sound
Item received on time, however was a little disappointed by the quality of the sound.as in a statement about the cd it was stared that the quality of sound was superb.Based upon my experience very little of Parker's live recordings could be considered superb in the sound sense.

Live performances from "The Storyville" 1953
It is difficult to listen to '50s jazz with modern ears; the music has developed; it no longer a novel sound; the recording techniques have improved. I came to jazz a little after this time listening firstly to "trad" and then British modern jazz by 1960 and still never truly appreciated Parker's music. I have his early recordings e.g. Dial masters etc.that in general I prefer to this live recording from 1953. I think that much of my disappointment is the recording quality and not the music, especially the playing of Parker.Despite what it says on the sleeve, this album covers more than one performance date. There are two different bands. The first a quartet with Red Garland, Billy Griggs and Roy Haynes; the second a quintet with Herb Pomeroy, Sir Charles Thompson, Jimmy Woode and Kenny Clarke.Several well known Parker tunes are included e.g. ""moose The Mooche", "Ornithology", "Now's The Time" and "Groovin' High".Sorry, but I find much of this performance pretty routine. I think that there is better Parker out there.
