Today Gourmet Foods of NCShrimp - Uncooked Black Tiger - Headless, Peeled, Deveined - 16/20 (5lb Pkg)

I ordered 10lbs of Jumbo Prawns, shell on. I’ll definitely do it again! Order arrived right on time and it was packaged beautifully! The shrimp were big and sent exactly as ordered. They even called me to make sure the order was right! Great service!

My plan is to make a big batch of breaded deep-fried shrimp that is not more breading than shrimp (what you typically find in a supermarket). So, I wanted big, uncooked (why use boiled shrimp for this?) shrimp peeled and deveined with tail on. The good news is that the shrimp are big and beautiful. The bad news is that they are not peeled or deveined. That said, I thawed, peeled and cut several of these Tiger Shrimp (almost prawns) and they done seem to have any veins to be concerned about. It will probably take me several hours to peel them all, but that means I have the shells to combine with a saved lobster shell and simmer with garlic and onion for a seafood base I can use later.Make lemonade, I say.

Just received shrimp and unwrapped immediately, felt light? Supposed to be #5. Weight on my Escali scale showed #4.668. With bag and ice crystals, not frozen as dry and then glazed. Hopefully flavor is good and shrimp.

Superb quality - better than we can regularly / conveniently find locally in Chicago. Way better than a supermarket bag - not even the same food group.We made a couple dishes over ~ 4 weeks. Just pull out what you need and leave the rest in the freezer. Purchased shell on for the grill (skewer) and a spicy Chinese dish on the wok. Made some shrimp cocktail for a group - delicious and perfect texture (a bit of time to thaw and then peel so get the peeled / deveined version if you don't need the protection of the shell - but as the other reviewer said, now we have shrimp stock!).
