Little goes a long way
Great substitute for soil.

It's just to stringy
The dirt is fine. But it's different than the loss dirt. The bricks have big thick strings all in them. They get stuck in speedy shell. I had to get the lose dirt. But personally I'll never buy it again.

Great coir bricks!
I have thick, heavy and difficult clay as my native soil, also known as Texas Gumbo. This soil type is super sticky when wet and almost rock hard when dry, so I prefer to amend my in-ground garden areas with material that fluffs up and breaks apart the soil, and traps moisture instead of shedding it. This coconut coir is exactly what I like to use for that purpose and works well for my expectations. When using this coir I put the bricks into a large bucket and filled it with water, and broke up the coir with gardening tools every so often as the outer layers absorb the moisture. I tend to soak coir bricks when performing other garden tasks so I can't say exactly how long it takes, but it was likely less than 30 minutes in total for these bricks to soak and easily break apart into damp fluff. This coir fluffs up quite well and provides a large volume of material that I mix with compost to fill in around my in-ground plants, and it works as needed to provide both drainage and moisture retention.I haven't found anything in these bricks of coir that shouldn't be there- I've found trash bits a few times in other brands, but fortunately these coir bricks were clean.I am satisfied with the quality, water retention, amount, and usefulness of this coir.2Pcs - Coco Coir Brick, Coco Peat, Coco Soil, Coco Fiber Low EC and Balanced pH for Planting, Seed Starting, Garden - 2.2 Lbs Compressed Coco Coir Expands to 11L (3 Gallons)

Great Soil Alternative / Additive
This set of coco coir peat bars is looking to be an excellent base for my vermicomposting need (i.e. composting at home using red wiggler worms - great for my soil and for my plants!). It softened right up after adding water and mixed well with my kitchen scraps and shredded cardboard. My worms really seem to like it!

Work perfectly
Each brick size is just as described. It softens up quickly with water and is easy to store. It lasts a long time and works perfectly when mixed with perlite, orchiata, and charcoal, saving me a lot of money compared to pre-made mixes. It holds moisture well but dries at a good rate, preventing mold, mildew, and root rot. Plus, it's light and airy, so there's no soil compaction or hydrophobic issues. My plants have been thriving!
