Yes they did say this in describing the taste.They said other things like oily, I didn't see where that came from.Any how I adore Japenese Green Tea but I just can't get into this variation. Supposed to be so healthy but not sure I can get into it.

Hello friends, I selected this khs organic green tea loose tea for iced tea.This is some really good quality green tea. I brewed a tester cup and found it to be very bitter. I brewed the same leaves again a second time and it was much better. For the rest of the tea, I rinsed it in hot water, drained it and then brewed it. I bloomed it three times and then threw the tea leaves away. The result was a really nice green tea. I added a little honey and served it on ice.

I didn't start out that way, but after becoming good friends with a coworker who drank tea every day, I became an official auto. My one week spot in my tea knowledge/enjoyment is green tea. I just haven't been able to find a groove with any particular type of green tea that I love. As such,I often order different kinds to try and rectify that.*What I liked*:I'm a particular fan of whole or mostly whole leaf loose leaf teas. I appreciate the large leaf size and freshness of these leaves.The tea does brew up nicely and for what it's worth makes a pretty great cup of green tea. Unfortunately for me, this isn't the tea that's going to change my mind about it. I can be objective though and I do understand that it is a good flavor for those who enjoy this kind of tea.It is also worth mentioning the overall package. It comes in a very nice box with a sealed foil bag inside. This would make a great gift which is why I mentioned this here.*What I didn't like*:I was going to mention the price here. $30 for 2 1/2 ounces at the time of review is a little on the steep side in my opinion. However, considering that this is AAA grade, I think the price is justified.*The Bottom Line:*Overall this isn't a tea for me. It didn't change my mind about Green tees. That being said, if you're a green tea lover, I suspect this is an excellent cuppa. I won't let my existing prejudice against green tea color my score here. This is an excellent green tea. It will get five stars out of five for me despite the fact that I just don't really care for it. And considering that, I probably wouldn't order it over again.
