Magnetic Electric Motor Starter 7.5 HP Single Phase Control 220/240V 30-40A

I purchased his product because of the price and availability. I replaced the one on my compressor that would have cost me four times as much or more. The instructions were not great but if you have some experience with controls you can get it hooked up. The screws in the enclosure were loose and the switch was floating around inside. After inspecting I hooked it up and it worked great. I would definitely recommend this product. I am ordering another for my other compressor.

We bought it for our 5hp compressor. The quality of the item has surprised our technician. For this price, it's a nice deal.

The good: I was looking for a product that would turn on a submersible pump that needed to be activated by a remote float switch. This product worked exactly as it was supposed to. Be aware that the box is small and of thin material and if you have larger size wires, it is not big enough to bend them inside to fit. It is also not waterproof, so it will not work outdoors. The Bad: It does require some prior electrical experience as the instructions are not clearly written. In fact if you don't already know how to install a controller, they are no help at all. If the instructions were better written I would have given it 5 stars

came with the overload relay detached and bouncing around in the box, it only has one screw holding it down, plus the bus-bars which are undersized and flimsy. went to install it, and #8 wire gauge wires' wont even fit the clamp terminals, the screws are way to short to hold the wires in place. with only one screw holding the overload relay in place, any type of vibration (such as using it on a air compressor) is going to have it coming loose in no time the wire clamp holes are made of plastic, and will definitely not hold up to use. this unit is very cheaply made, and I cant see it lasting any time at all, most likely using it will cause a fire, due to the poor quality and cheap construction of the unit. spend the extra money on a quality unit. the label on the front is simply a piece of typewriter paper, printed, and then stuck on the front with some clear tape, this gives you a idea how much junk this unit is. I would also like to note, this unit is **NOT** UL rated sending it back, and buying a "brand name" unit that I know will work, and is better quality.

I mistakenly thought this had a momentary switch to engage the contactors so that if the power went off the motor would not automatically come back on. The contactor in this is engaged by a rocker switch so that it stays on and if the power goes out it is the contactor will re-engage when the power is restored.
