What a great switch at great value. I wanted to put my WiiM mini and My CD player through my S. M. S. l. SU1 ( Amazing DAC for the money). I had bought a switch previously and it just couldn't handle the 24but 192 mHZ input. Then I bought this, really impressed. It's flawless works like a dream, has auto select and remote (which I doubt I will use). No loss in fidelity and a bargain at £19 quid. If your looking for a great toslink switch at peanuts money, this is for you. Sets up in seconds.

Does the job seamlessly. Works great. Better than the alternative which cost over 3 times as much and conked out after 6 months. Remote is a bit small but that's not a deal breaker.

Update: the manufacturer was very good at resolving the issues I’d had with the product & I would recommend them. Thereby corrected to 4 stars. The splitter worked perfectly, used with the remote control, but the automatic switching function will only change to my TV box then refuses to change back to any other device afterward, regardless if the power is turned on, or off on your devices, in any (and every, trust me I tried) particular order, or if the cables are input in one order, or reverse order - nothing will then take it back, other than the button on the remote, so the remote control is always required to change source, as once it gets stuck on the tv box source, the remote is the only way to get off it. So if your very tiny, very flat remote control ever gets lost, (or always in my case), there’s no method of switching back, without unplugging and changing the cables, rendering it great, with the remote, but not so great without. When connected to the correct channel, it’s had very limited use, but seems a decent sound quality, through my reasonable Sony surround sound system. Really the whole thing would be a five star, if it lived up to its claims re auto-detection.

What a great product, I own an BT transmitter which only has 1 single optical input which is silly if you think about it since in this world we have multiple audio and picture devices around the house, like 2-3 if not more. Anyhow this COOIDEA device solves the issue I can now have TV and PC optical out going into the 1 limited optical input on my BT transmitter and it auto senses and switches which ever signal is coming on and it just works perfectly. There are other optical switches on the market but they all require manual button selecting or using the remote, who wants that hassle and headache! not me. And this is from what I can tell is perhaps the only device on the market that does it, in my searches I could not find anything remotely like it or at least one that auto switches the signal. The only negative dislike on this product is the bright led blue light, its a excessively bright I had to put blue tack over it to get back peace and sanity.

Excellent device, delivers HD Sound at PCM 96kHz on BBC Radio 3.

Has worked flawlessly for months wth a surround sound system, using the automatic setting to select whichever source is active.

When this arrived, I was immediately struck by how thin and flimsy the plastic felt. I decided to keep it anyway, hoping it would at least do its one job—splitting the optical signal. To be fair, it did work… for about two weeks. Then the plastic casing just fell apart. I wasn’t even moving the cables around much. It stayed plugged in the whole time. If something this simple can’t hold up under normal use, that’s a serious flaw. If you still plan to buy it, my advice: wash your hands, put on gloves, and maybe use a test tube clamp when handling it. It’s that delicate.

Not too sure about not being 'cased' but does the job of switching inputs effectively with wiring and unit hidden by using the remote.

I have an analogue 5.1 sound system that lacks a good Dolby Prologic 2 feature (to have a good pseudo 5.1 effect on stereo content), so I got the Southsky 5.1 DAC which does that awesome for a great price. But it lacks automatic switching between SPDIF inputs and also a remote control to do that manually, as I wanted to also use a Bluetooth receiver in addition to the Android TV Box I already have connected to it. So I found this device which has the AUTO function (rare function to find) and also a remote control (which I don't use, because I only use one input at a time and the AUTO function works perfectly) and also SPDIF inputs and output for a great price. It works perfectly, I have now 3 sources connected: Android TV Box, Bluetooth receiver and the TV output itself (for when I want to use integrated apps instead of Android Box or have TV sound in real 5.1 or the pseudo 5.1 effect with the DAC I use). For powering I use a smart socket with remote control, so I don't miss a physical on-off button at all.

Small and works perfect!

Etwas teurer als die Anderen dafür automatische Umschaltung die perfekt funktioniert. Sehr gute Verarbeitung und modernes technisches Design. Die hellen LED's sind auch bei Tageslicht gut sichtbar und stören mich nicht. Einziges Manko: die optischen Stecker rasten nicht ein und sitzen deshalb nicht fest. Deshalb ein kleiner Punkteabzug auf 4,8 von 5 ! Wenn mehrere Geräte gleichzeitig eingeschaltet sind kann mittels der mitgelieferten Fernbedienung manuel umgeschaltet werden, sehr praktisch aber die Tasten der Fernbedienung könnten etwas besser reagieren aber mit etwas Übung funktioniert es einwandfrei.
