Borderline dangerous levels of insane cutting power.
This amazing tool will make short work of your most arthritis-inducing garden and lawn maintenance tasks and will also absolutely 100% cut off your finger if you let it.There is plenty of power on tap here... with a Makita battery, you can use this awesome cutting machine hundreds, maybe thousands, of times between charges...but there is not a lot of fine control on the trigger; once the trigger switch clicks, that blade is coming down and if you are lucky and have the reflexes of a methed-out snow leopard, you might be able to jerk your finger off the trigger to keep it from finishing it's cutting stroke. Otherwise, get ready to dial 911 with your bloody stump.I kid (a bit), but the power and danger on this is actually no joke and should be taken seriously. That said, it's amazing. It cuts like Luke Skywalker. Branch in your way? ZIPZIP Not any more! Got some volunteers coming up around the base of your tree? ZIPZIP Not any more! Used to ending the day with sore hands from maintaining your yard? That's not a concern for you either, my friend.I don't know if you have branches to maintain or a garden to tend, but you kinda need this deadly sexy samuari in your life. The build quality is impressive and the display makes it look like some kind of gardening tool from Starship Troopers. Would you like to know more?It comes in a great box too. Very suitable for gifting to anyone you think has too many fingers. Tools include a blade removal allen wrench and a sharpening stone, presumably to make it even more deadly than it already is. I absolutely love mine, though it does terrify me. Good luck.

I'd buy it again.
The reviews and the Makita battery sold this to us. Tried it on Oak branches and it's a winner. Light and strong. The coupon helped too.

Powerful shears.
These shears are powerful and work well. My only issue with the shears is that they need to open up farther allowing larger branches to be cut. As for their longevity, I can not attest to that as I have not had them long enough to make an assessment.

Great Cutting Sheers
This is an ideal pair of sheers for those of us in the Makita family already. These really fancy up the place and make easy work of trimming the verge. Very pleased with the results so far, hoping these last quite a long time as the bushes I have aren't going anywhere anytime soon

Handy pruning shears
These are handy pruning shears that fit in my hand perfectly and was easy to manage and handle. The color is cool too.

Impressed
I thought I'd give these pruning shears a try in my garden. I didn't expect much, but came away impressed. The construction is solid, the tool is well balanced (with battery installed), and it works perfectly. It offers four preset gear positions, accessible with a button press. Holding the trigger for a few seconds will put the shears into closed mode for storage (good idea), and holding the power button for a few seconds will turn it off. There is a small LED screen showing the current battery state. The tool is billed as being "for Makita" batteries, and indeed it has the exact color scheme of a Makita tool. That said, it does not come with a battery or a charger, so I paired up the tool with a third party charger from Supowill, and a third party battery from Jialitt (compatible with Makita BL1860 (18V, 6.0 Ah), both of which also follow the Makita color scheme. As a result, I have a complete "Makita" set, none of which comes from Makita.I cannot attest to the longevity of the tool, battery, or charger, but at perhaps a fifth of the cost of the branded equivalent, I'll take my chances. So far, the combo is working together flawlessly. If there is a weak link in this combo, it's likely to be the battery and not the shears.

Should be good for maintenance pruning.
I got these to try to tamp back a Kudzu invasion in my backyard. Two batteries and 4 hrs later the blade was a bit dulled and wasn't cutting as well as it started. For what I put it through I think it held up pretty good. If you are just using it for simple maintenance pruning it should be fine.
