Top book
I got this on Thursday and have spent quite a bit of time with it, just flies into the hand. What do you get a very good book in short , illustrations, diagrams , photos and colour plates all clear easy to follow sharp a.nd they surrender excellent detail. being a collector of optical gear from WW2 / Kgm / RN this book does provide me with plenty of interesting photos above and beyond the actual primary subject matter. The guns themselves - a great reference guide which fits in well with other books I have and one which I know I will find useful.Still plenty to gleam from this book and I know I will keep finding good material in it.Value for money , top price is £40 odd but it can be had for about £27-30 mark , a really good value work.Polish work , quality of translation , no problems , very well done, quality of publication good large format , font size is excellent paper quality and binding are 100%.I have to admit I did look at this one for a long time before buying , my only regret is that I didn't buy it earlier.Excellent

Ideal for researchers on German Naval items
With carrying our research on military items for my local heritage centre I found that sometimes I needed that little more information on opposing naval vessels, and in this book there are lots of information on all except the machine guns and small arms also carried on the majority of German naval vessels during WWII.With the German Navy often having excellent weapon systems that out-matched those of the Royal Navy and other allied navy's weapons, it was interesting to put into context the use of opposing weapons against each other, and realise that sometimes their were flaws in how the superior weapons being used were to see the downfall of what could and should have been a far superior enemy fleet, had the allied forces not had better tacticians aboard the vessels encountering their enemy at sea. This book is not for those who like to read a story, but for those who wish to learn about the development and design of the weapons mentioned.

German naval guns 1939-45.
Though an expensive book on a very narrow and technical subject this book gets an emphatic "thumbs up" from me.Interesting text, without becoming too dry and specified.Excellent illustrations, both photographic and diagramatic and a simple presentation style makes this volume a little gem of its type. The quality of the illustrations on the cover gives only a hint of what is inside.I hope this author will do similar work on British,US, and Japanese naval weapons.Expensive, but a classic on this subject!

make them look good
This is in all but a gunnery manule and a must for the model maker, very good drawings and pictures right across the board many of the weapons also featured in the german army and airforce. The standard of model making over the years by the interested person has been gaining levels of Excellence and long may it continue.THE Printing of the same feature on the Royal Navy Gunnery would go down very well// however!!!secrets list.

German Naval Guns
Lots and lots of detail for those interested in this topic. Photos (some not seen before) and drawings (most in colour) for those wishing to model the German Navy. Worth the price.
