In a word: terrible
This is a terrible, completely superficial biography. With a few exceptions, Morton isn't the least interested in Madonna's work, and barely mentions her music. I wouldn't say I'm a Madonna fan, but I like some of her music, and find her artistic development to be interesting. It's beyond me how anyone can write a dull biography about her, but Morton has managed just that.

Great for those who want direct quotes from the Material Girl herself along with details of her ancestry and her faith Kabbalah
What I REALLY loved about this biography was the references to quotes that Madonna had made in past interviews.Andrew Morton also gives very vast and extrodinary details about Madonna's ancestry from Italy to Canada. He also gives some information about her faith Kabbalah and how it has changed her and made her rekindle her relationship with God.This book is great for getting information related to Madonna and also for passing the time.

Book on one of the most vain socially irresponsible humans on earth. Sense of entitlement by a singer who sounds like Minny Mous
Was written well but the ego on that creature is without equal. Lord help those children

Ah Poor Madonna
I loved this author in his other books. So I thought he would give an honest look at Madonna, in a way no one else had. I actually felt sorry for her, throughout the first half of the book. Then I realized, the author was glossing over so much- analyzing, blaming EVERYTHING on the death of her mother at five years old.. One more time, When did her mother die? let's say it again! when she was five years old. People have survived much worse than this, and gotten further in life... anyway I digress. He debunks all the rumors and stories I 've heard and read about over the years,- the trussing up by Sean Penn, the $35 in her pocket in New York, living on the streets, I feel, to make us feel sorry for her. Then the last chapter! Oh my gosh- she just had her first child, and suddenly she wants to be lady madonna, Mrs. Ritchie? Come on. What a let down of an ending.I ready it all. I wonder why I did. I wanted to like it, I tried to like it, but borrow it from a library. don't spend your hard earned cash on it.
