I bought this not knowing it melts. When i opened it ...it was melted and went all over. I wanted to contact the company ...but it was my fault for not thinking enough to look into the details of this product. It is in fact oil based.

Probably best to order this in the fall or winter because mine came to me completely melted. It's currently in the refrigerator but it was a mess

Putting this on my dog a couple times a week has really smoothed his paws. Gives them a silky texture. We walk every day so I try to make sure to hit his paws with this at least twice a week. He hates having his paws touched so it's a fight or else I put them on daily! Absorbs fast so he doesn't track it all over the house. I'd recommend it!

I'm not allowed to talk about how/why my product was melted from day one... But it was. And that's a shame, because with all these natural ingredients--which I love, because trust me, I know that my dog spends the rest of the night in her crate licking this stuff off--so food-grade ingredients are really REALLY important. But once it melted, it's been goo ever since. You would think that maybe once it cooled down to room temperature, it would re-solidify, but that really isn't what happened. Instead of being a stick, it's a stick-shaped container of what is essentially now the same consistency as petroleum jelly. This also means that if (when) it gets tipped on its side, or ends up upside down somewhere, the product leaks out of the lid (because the lid is just like the cap of chap-stick). I might try this product again, but if I do, I will be ordering it when it's nice and cold outside.

My little terrier mix has idiopathic hyperkeratosis on his nose. This palm really helps keep his nose soft as long as I remember to put it on. I do have to keep it in the fridge or it's just a bit too soft and "melty".
