The little dove & the haunted duke!
A sweet, love at first sight, character developing focused, romance that makes for heartmeltingly good escapism. I do love getting to know these hardworking, closeknit Angels and heart liberating, philosophical, I-care-enough-to-look-beneath-your-façades-to-heal-your-pain, fixer Brenna is so fun and likeable with her bold, doesn't beat around the bush rejoinders, brimming compassion and sunshine outlook she had me standing right behind her, rooting her on. She was the perfect foil for our new Duke of Claymore, Daire's inner demons.Daire, struggling with inner demons that haunt him from a past riddled with cruelty and abuse, fears a monster resides deep down within, waiting to pounce just like all the other hateful males in his family. Will he be strong enough to address his heartbreaking anguish? Can old festering wounds be healed, to reveal the inner core of kindness that flows beneath his arrogant, I-always-get-what-I-want façade? Or, do his soul sore scars run to deep for salvation? I really did enjoy seeing if the sizzling chemistry, hard to deny connection and burning building attraction between these two would be enough to overcome the barrier of rank, lingering doubts and the ache of lurking demons.A most enjoyable romance, that radiated with a natural easiness to the progression of their relationship that glowed with a chemistry full of humour, banter and a sweet provocation that built from first meet and quickly had me invested. With a sideline romance in Jax and Felicity to enjoy too - though I'm hoping they do eventually get their own book as Jax definitely has the potential to be a meaty character, someone that appears to have a lot of skeletons in his closet to expose - makes this tale the perfect, cuddle up on the sofa, companion.Another heartwarming addition to a great feel good series!~I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own~

Brilliant and emotional
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋No other words for this book and series other than Stunning!I love this author’s work, every word she writes, every book she plots is done with brilliance. This MC we have had the pleasure of meeting previously, but not under the best of circumstances. Now he’s moved up in the world, he’s a Duke and he’s ready to cut loose from his friends, they drag him down and he’s bored of them, and he’s ready to be an adult and marry. When he meets our FC she takes his breath away, she’s fierce and outspoken, she says what she wants, and it’s not him or his money. He’s got his work cut out for him. This is a great book, fun , lighthearted, a little angsty, a lot quick witted, and a great read.I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Great fun
Daire, Duke of Claymore keeps being drawn back to the sleepy village of Moonstone Landing. The place seems to bring peace to his troubled soul.Miss Brenna Angel has been a teacher at a school in Oxford, but when she returns to Moonstone Landing she realised it is home and she will not sell her house there. This is a lovely historical romance set in a beautiful village we have read about before in the previous books in the series. The characters are all very special. The locals are generous and friendly, many of them from the same large family. Not all the visitors are nice but some just feel the need to stay. Each book in the series has its own independent story that doesn't spoil the others. Every one that I have read have been interesting and fun. I'm not sure if there will be more, but if there are I will definitely need to read them.Great fun.

A Wonderful, Sigh-Worthy Romance Between a Duke & a Governess!
Daire Claymore, the new Duke of Claymore, seeks the help of Brenna Angel, a teacher/governess, to heal his wild six-year-old nephew. Along the way, he finds himself drawn to the impertinent and beautiful Brenna, who owns a property he wants to buy. The book is a delightful mix of humor, romance, and mystery, set in a charming coastal village where moonstones are said to shine for lovers. Platt's writing is engaging and witty, and her characters are well-developed, and I fell in love with Daire & Brenna; he was arrogant and roguish, with a wicked sense of humor......sigh. She was strong, intelligent, kind & always an uplifting bit of sunshine! The chemistry between Daire and Brenna is sizzling, and their banter is hilarious. The plot is fast-paced and full of twists and turns, keeping the reader hooked until the end. The Moonstone Governess is a perfect read for fans of historical romance, especially those who enjoy stories with a touch of magic and mystery.

elegant and sweet continuation of a series
I enjoy the light sweetness of this story. Daire has a backstory that is filled with debauchery. He was lost or looking for something until he met Brenna. She’s fiesty, intuitive, gentle and caring. Everything he needed. I enjoy the interaction of all the previous characters and the growth and development of the town. It’s always a pleasure to read this authors books.

Great read
This series is a witty and entertaining one. I recommend reading this series to anyone interested in regency romance with a little bit of extra something. It’s sweet, funny, and of course there’s the 🌶️ that Meara is known for. Lots of descriptive writing so you feel a part of the story. Meara sure can tell a story to hook you in and not let you go until you reach the end.
