Lovely Romance
This is a well-written absorbing romance of a Duke and a girl who knocks him flying - both physically and mentally. The Duke has two brothers and his bride three friends who are just waiting for their own stories to be told. I cannot wait!

Bluestocking not at all awed by a duke
A steamy story. The Farthingales continue. I liked Adele and her unusual bluestocking friends. Would they really have been able to roam about on their own without any apparent gossip I am not sure. Also Lord Brynmore when he tried to cut Adela’s dress, she was wearing one made by a top seamstress, so shoddy workmanship would not have been considered, and to be found with a knife on a dance floor, would he have been that silly? It would be the end of him. Also the end of Felicity Rose as I am sure with Ambrose’s connections never mind all the Farthingales and of course Lady Withnall, who in earlier books is feared for spreading gossip, they would have let everyone know she was involved. Then I did wonder if the end about the dig/bones was a bit of let down and slow given the pace and action of the east of the story. But I liked it and it is that pace and action of the majority of the book that keeps it at 4 stars.

another hit for the Farthingale family
Adela is being sponsored of Lady Dayne, the Farthingale's neighbour and friend. She is independent, and fascinated by archaeology. As she's not allowed to join the Royal Society, when the Duke of Huntsford opens a private museum, Adela must visit. In her first visit she finds not only her extensive notes are stolen but a rare book she'd been using for research, and in chasing the thief she runs into and knocks over a man. Ambrose, Duke of Huntsford is walking through his newly opened museum when he's knocked down by a young woman who not only blames him for her accident but doesn't hesitate to tell him her opinion of him. But when she explains her rush, he calls in the runners in order to retrieve the missing items.Ambrose is intrigued by Adela's lack of formality and her interest in archaeology, and finds himself being drawn to her, although her lack of forethought for her own safety terrifies him.Not strictly a Farthingale book, although the Farthingale family feature heavily, but just as enjoyable as all the others in the series, and good to see another Farthingale daughter enter the fray for a future book.

Wonderful, light and fun reading
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋I’m tempted to go charging into my nearest Museum, just to see if I have as much luck as our heroine. It’s very unlikely to happen, she gets a handsome Duke, I’m more likely to get arrested.🫣What a book, I was hooked from the first, Meara had me speechless and spellbound with her writing that held me captive throughout.A really great book I’m sure you’re going to love too, especially If your tastes run to delicious Dukes and their brothers, and a crazy heroine who’s feisty and outspoken & her wallflower friends as companions. Then this book should definitely be next on your list.Highly recommended!!I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

delightful, funny, romantic
I can’t say enough about Meara Platts skill as a romance writer. She creates lovable quirky women of valor. Families you want to get to know. And heroes that make you salivate because of their ability to fall in love with these women. These are feel good stories.

YES!
I truly liked this story. The way this duke loves and protects his future wife, and then they marry. Once married, they work together, and begin a family. It truly resonates with me as it is a copy of my own life.

GREAT DIALOGUE!
The dialogue in the first few chapters had me laughing so much. The h is a stitch and the H doesn’t know how to take her honesty. He’s a Duke for goodness sake and no one speaks to him like the h does.I liked the family dynamics of the H. His brothers are very interesting and I can’t wait for their stories. The one I’m most looking forward to is Lady Sydney and Octavian. What disappoints me is, their story isn’t until the end of this year, which I’ve preordered. I have purchased book 9 which is next to read. Some suspense, violence, nasty villains, romance and great main and secondary characters. Lovemaking within marriage, heat level 4 out of 5. I felt a connection to this couple, so filled with love and passion. It was nice visiting the Farthingale characters from previous stories. Even though book 8 of the series, it is a standalone story.I’m always happy, when the couple discuss being faithful. I did find the ending somewhat anticlimactic. Story ends at 96% on my e-reader. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and steam. (ljb)

A Duke and his bluestocking
A lovely romance, I enjoy revisiting the Farthingale series, it's always witty and heart warming with well written story and engaging characters. And, of course this one had me at a bluestocking and a duke. Ambrose is smitten by Adela because she doesn't fawn to his status and she's honest and upfront with him. A gorgeous romance with two people falling in love. It's a win win and a wonderful journey to happily ever after.
