Filmer 18627 Snow Chains Type KN90, 2 Pieces

These snow chains came from Germany,carriage free,in four days.Very quick!An excellent item and very good value,my son paid more for the ones he hired! The instructions are in German but the pictures are easy to understand,which is lucky for me,and now the snow's gone! I'd advise anyone who buys chains to practice fitting them on a good day,nothing worse than trying to fit them for the first time in freezing snow conditions.

Positives:Very good chains with excellent test results.Easy to fit compared to most types of snow chain.Delivered in under a week despite coming from Germany during severe bad weather.Negatives:With any snow chain its vital you get the exact right size for the tyre on your vehicle. As these guys' English is almost a dodgy as my grasp of German that was an uphill job - But we did succeed. (Note some OTHER sites offer automatic look up wheel/tyre size tables based on your car's registration .... and many state the wrong sizes - Be careful, look and see what tyres are actually fitted to yours)!These Snow-chains are fairly easy to fit because they loop around the rear of the tyre then slot together. Slight problem was I had to tap one slot-clip with a chissel to free it. Easy enough to do as I checked them at home - at the roadside that would have been far more awkward.The instructions text is in German. Not a great problem as the acompanying photos are easy to understand once you shake the chains out and see how they will go.Overall would I have bought these chains from these guys knowing this from the outset?Definitely. They are both cheaper and better than most.
