Dr.Fish Long Shot Spinning Reel

Wonderful reel I was kind of pessimistic at first, but it works flawlessly would highly recommend this product

Really nice reel for the price! So far its been great! Spooled with about 300 yards of 80lb braid holds up super nice on my 12’ secret weapon!

This is one of the better budget reel with quality. Pros: Light weight for the sturdy reel body Med to light weight, good balance for a 10 or 11 for surf casting rod. It will not balance a 12 foot rod, it's boarder line working on an 11' Drag Sound it Amazing (similar to $200 reels). You will hear it on the beach. Handle Length is perfect Handle Arm is solid metal Handle Knob is the perfect shape for Surf casting reels Ease of use with getting the Handle Arm tightened and on a rod Retrieve is very smooth Functionality wise, it does what it is suppose to do Line keeper on Spool has the perfect gap for all mono or braid sizes Cons: Spool Plastic Collar on the Bottom (meant to keep sand out) Design concept with the plastic collar being guided up and down by the Bail housing arms makes no sense. The fragile thin plastic pieces will get grease and sand build up and break in due time. This is common on lower budget reels.

Great product, especially for the price

Purchased this reel a year ago and that is about as long as it lasted. It is a very good reel, but I would say it is not for saltwater. I take good care of my equipment including desalting, rinsing, and oiling between uses. This outing, the reel became difficult to reel in and then final froze in the middle of a Cobia fight. Had to pull the line by hand to get the fish to the boat. If I had neglected the reel, not cleaning and maintenance the reel, then it would be on me. But that is not the case. Great reel for a year, fished it a dozen times, but not made for saltwater.

Started using this reel a few days ago and so far it has not disappointed. Added it to a 10 foot beef stick and can cast 60 to 70 yards.

Wouldn’t buy again already seized up.. I’ve had a couple others for 5-7 years no issues this one less the a year.

Drag knob broke at first use. Emailed Dr. Fish to get the reel fixed, after 2 weeks of waiting and no response from Dr. Fish I have asked Amazon for a refund. 5 stars for Amazon, will never buy from Dr Fish.

Better than expected

Good quality and great casting distance but very heavy not very comfortable for spinning. My arm got sore after just half our of casting and spinning. I would rather it was lighter.

I’m very happy with this reel, holds a lot of braided line, is not to heavy, seems solid and well put together with a real smooth operation have been using it to surf cast and so far so good.

Great reel but infinite anti reverse doesn’t always work, when the reel is reeled in and there is tension on the reel it will go in reverse and you have to stop it by hand.
