A very impressive simple drone, my first. Best fun from a piece of tech that I've had in years. Batteries last about 8 minutes [ came with 2 and a twin charger] and I have since bought another spare. Well built, fits in a pocket when folded. Lots of instruction videos online. Great Value.

It’s expensive. It’s light, it’s small. It looks like a toy but it is incredible. It’s not a Drone that needs you to master a great deal. It’s pre programmed to do a fair amount and that’s the beauty of it. Very quickly you see how easy it is to use and the effects are amazing but what blew my mind was that if you talk into your phone’s mic while it’s flying (and you’re connected to it) the AI gets rid of the buzzing noise to give clear commentary. A couple of cons, it could easily be grabbed by someone if you’re using this in a very populated area and they could run off with it. It does have limitations like about 10 mins flying time on one battery. If it’s too windy it won’t fly or will just land without returning to you. Don’t fly it over water, it will end in tears. Notwithstanding those Cons I think it’s bloody marvellous and already I’ve taken some exciting & interesting selfies that you wouldn’t get either by holding it or sticking my phone on a pole. If you can afford it, buy it. I thoroughly recommend this.

Best drone is the one you have with you. This fits in my pocket, even my 6 year old can launch it. I have used it a lot where, ordinarily I would’ve taken a video with my phone. This just makes the videos so much better.

The media could not be loaded. Fantastic drone, 2.7k video quality is great for quality videos and the camera takes amazing shots.Easy to fly, manual or autonomously.Batteries last long enough to get multiple videos (10 mins is more than enough life per battery, depending on your usage).4 stars, as there is so much potential (updates permitting) for this drone.

So easy to get initial shots - and a certain amount of control over 'preset' parameters is possible. I have started t experiment with custom flights - I would prefer it if every shot was NOT a selfie!Also it is frustrating that it has a very slow charger - obviously it is very particular about which electrons it allows to enter the battery, but from minimum to maximum it takes over 3 hours - and, if using the trin charger, charges one battery first, then moves on to the second one!. Just so frustrating.If you're concerned about potentially damaging the HoverAir X1 in your pocket or if packing for a trip, you will be delighted to know it exactly fits a standard 3.5-inch drive case! - Problem solved for a few extra pounds.Overall- Do I like it? - YES.- Do I love it? - Not sure yet.- Can it get better? - I'm sure it can - and hopefully will be in the firmware updates soon!- Would I swap it fo a refund? - NO

Its a bit nerve wracking to let an expensive thing like this free without any control and then turn your back on it and ride away. But so far it has followed me around like a flying puppy. Very impressed so far. Not all functions are available at first. They get unlocked as you gain experience using it. It does have limitations though. Wind, Water and mountains are risky but there are 2 pro versions of this with better cameras which can handle more situations. This baby one is more for parties and picnicks than skiing and surfing

Initially I wasn’t happy, but the company is amazing. Would really recommend everyone to buy from them. They made my day and perfect customer services. Very helpful.The drone itself, I’m a YouTuber and I make videos for a history channel that I own. I find it very useful and it’s very easy to carry. Great control and perfect gift for any tech lover.

Edit: Got in touch with support and they quickly sent a replacement. Very good customer service, no problems with the new unit.I have purchased the HOVERAir X1 drone with high expectations, especially looking forward to using its bird’s-eye view feature. Unfortunately, this drone has been a huge disappointment. The unit shuts down arbitrarily when using the bird’s-eye mode above 9 meters, causing it to drop from the sky. This not only renders the feature useless but also resulted in damage to the camera and shell after a fall.
