Survived 60mph gusts at the beach.
Bought these for a weekend trip camping on the beach. I was a little skeptical after seeing the length, but they worked like a champ. The forecasted "light drizzle overnight" turned into a severe thunderstorm with wind gusts reported near 60mph at the Wilmington, NC airport. Tent and rainfly stayed put and none of the stakes pulled out of the ground. Three of them bent (pictured on the right), but only one of them to the point of being unusable.

Best stakes I have owned!
Went hiking in the bush the other weekend. Super light stakes that packed well in the bag and pounded into the ground great. I camped between some cedar trees and was pounding through some roots. If you use common sense I don't see the stakes breaking, but possible if abused. They along with other stakes will not go through rock. I abused one pretty hard and did get the head to bend over slightly. I also like the reflective cord on the ends as shown in the picture below. You use this cord to find the stake and you can pull out the stake with your fingers. I have zero complaints and going to purchase another 10 stakes for my tarps and extras. Pretty sure I can fit all twenty in one bag. I paid 100% for these stakes and did not receive any compensation for this review.

Very good so far ...waiting for the colder harder ground to test durability
Currently giving only 4 stars because these stakes haven't had a lot of use to test durability. Otherwise, they have performed very well for 2 previous spring weekend campouts. Cold and breezy ...but not really windy. The New England dirt was not frozen solid or full of rocks so inserting them into the ground was easily done with the push of ones foot if not able to do it by hand.Note, I used a combination of these stakes and some from Mountainsmith [ASIN:B005LURNXG Mountainsmith Tent Stakes (Set of 8)] on an ALPS Taurus 4 Outfitter Tent [ASIN:B009WH15YM ALPS Mountaineering Taurus 4 Outfitter Tent]. The TNH ones were used to tie down the fly while the Mountainsmith were on the tent body. Unless someone happened to trip on a guy line, all the stakes held great in the ground and no adjustments were needed over the weekends.Nice feature with the included reflective "pull loop" line attached on each stake, they actually stand out at night when using flashlight or headlamp. Also makes it easy to pull the stakes out of the ground when packing up. Unlike the Mountainsmith one's ...which I am tempted to Dremel some holes into them to add some similar line on them.I would consider buying another set if I needed replacements. Great value given its use so far ...even more value in that I got them during an Amazon Lightning Deal.[UPDATE .. 9/25/17]Used them again this past weekend at a different campground. The ground was still soft but lots of tree roots and small rocks. Tougher to put in but still able to push in with foot. Note, both the TNH and Mountainsmith started to develop bends in 1 or 2 spikes. See extra pictures. Also, these TNH stakes look like they are an older model as they don't have the hooked notch as the current ones being sold here on Amazon.

Great tent pegs! Small head, but work well.
I received a tent for free and all it had were old plastic (not to mention some were missing) tent pegs. They did very little to secure the tent into the ground and as soon as I hit any dirt that wasn't super soft they would bend and or break. The whole idea of a stake you drive into the ground seems entirely obvious that it can't be soft plastic. Enter the TNH Aluminum pegs... These tent stakes are built super well! I slammed them into hard ground with the back of my hatchet and they didn't bend or give me any trouble at all. I only wish they had a hook or a bigger head to grab the loops in my tent, but other than that they're fantastic. I do highly recommend them! I was able to secure my tent easily into the packed dirt and they actually are not difficult to pull out of the ground either. The only things I would change are making the straps a little longer so you have more to grab on to when pulling them out of the ground. I also would love to see hooks or larger heads on them so they grab the straps on my tent a little bit more easily. Other than that I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Those are both minor tweaks that would make a great product even better.EDIT: I recently got to use these again and while I was hammering into the ground I hit a root. I was actually able to punch this THROUGH the root! Try doing that with those cheapo plastic tent pegs. HA! Anyway, this seems to be one of those products that is worth even more than the asking price. I'm very very pleased with the price from this particular seller considering it's the same exact product with a different logo on it and it's approximately half the price of others.

Small and lightweight...but handled some heavyweight tension in soft soil today.
I purchased these stakes to help hold down my rainfly for a hammock. They are very lightweight and seem sturdy enough for my needs. The rope loop certainly helps to pull these out of the ground as well. When these arrived today, I was in the middle of another project and decided to test these stakes out by seeing how well they would do with holding up a PVC adjustable tarp pole that I made. I made four of these poles with the hope that they can be used to hold an additional rain tarp over a tent. I was testing these poles out today along with some guy lines that I had put together and decided to see if these smaller lightweight stakes could handle the job in some pretty soft ground. I'm planning on using some longer 10" galvanized stakes for the actual job, but since I had these TNH ones here...I'll see if they can do it. They actually performed quite well...even in the soft soil. I took three guy lines to hold up a single pole and left it in the backyard all day. The stakes held without any problems. These are not my original plan for these stakes...but it was impressive that they did so well. I'm probably going to order some more of these to put in my hiking bag as well because they are so small and light. I have a hammock and rain tarp rig for that bag for emergencies and these will work quite well. The color is cool and the easy to find rope ring is very helpful. I like how these come in a storage bag too.
