The beam pro is a basic android device with the glasses software app. It also enables app download from playstore. The camera system is a spatial camera but can also be used as a normal camera. There are not many glasses specific apps yet, I can see myself using my phone more than this rather than carry 2 around with me.

For that price a good camera! Not the best for near, or macro, you need to be at least 2 meters distance, but for the rest a good buy, the battery goes quick down, so you will need a power pack, but for the rest its a good buy!

This can take 3d pictures OK and you can view them in 3d with the expensive glasses. You can watch 2d videos in a 3d area OK and play games on Steam in 2d. other than that the 3d side is a nightmare. I have put 3d films on the unit that sometime work often not, it then leaves you in limo because you have no way of doing anything because the controls in the Xreal app stop working,you are left with no alternative but to unplug the glasses and try again. I did try putting the 3d video's onto the SD card and then plugging that in only to find the Xreal couldn't see them and asked me to reformat the SD card. I tied using the VLS app to stream 3d onto the device it shows side by side but wouldn't go into 3d modeUpdate 1. 09/09/2024 I have now got these working on the PC after a lot of effort. I bought a cable fro Amazon that supply's Power and HDMI. I'm currently using an App called Pot Player that works well but it's a bit of a learning curveWith Default Air casting onThe App I was using V.L.C, Didn't allow a user to use the Glasses when using the XREAL Pro. I have now tried out a number of other Apps most of them give you issues of one kind or another. Currently trying out Nova Video Player. Most of these Android Video Player apps don't seem to work well with S.B.S half width Videos as they don't go full screen in the Air Pro 2With Default Air casting offWhen you first connect the glasses point your head where you want the screen to be and point the XREALl in the same Direction. a bit difficult to use it's not the best.I have now connected a Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard to help when Air is casting on

Based on my question, Xreal said it supports AirPlay like the original Beam!I bought it based on Xreal’s answer. After weeks & latest SW update it still can’t Airplay!Original Beam:Is a failure. Great concept, very bad implementation. Poor battery, fan noise and heat, and very weak hardware makes video quality SD, 480p max!AirPlay is deadly slow, jittery and crashes due to the inferior HW!No official playatore support so many apps can’t stream DRM content!New Beam Pro:Still weal but better HW that can handle full HD (1080p), but also heats up and drains the battery.Same 3-poor 4 hours playback max which is bad on flights!The worst is the lack of input port as 2nd port in like 1st beam, it supports power only!!!And with the lack of AirPlay 2 (that was included with the first beam), there’s no way to stream from Mac, iPhone or iPad!You’re stuck with Android apps only!Mac Nebula app:Good concept, worst SW ever. Unreliable, crashes itself and the Mac, you lose the mouse and you have to restart the Mac to get the mouse control back!Lacks many controls, or removed with SW updates.No iPhone Nebula app like on Android, so you’re forced to buy the beam which is filled with problems.Xreal Air 2 Pro:Wonderful, joy to watch movies, TV and consume media.Apart of weak bass, it has very clear sound and voice. Great in movies even without Bluetooth headphones.Very light and comfortable.Great looking.Bright screens with great dimming in the Pro version.But:Only 1080pNo smooth follow or body anchor without the buggy apps or buy the beam!Edges are blurry.Not good for computer mirroring, not clear.Not clear for text in general unless you enlarge it.I still prefer keeping the glasses and think Xreal is the best in this industry but very frustrated by both old beam, new beam pro and Nebula on Mac.They could’ve made ot perfect, but they make the worst SW or a great glasses HW.
