NeuroSky MindWave Mobile 2: Brainwave Starter Kit EEG Headset

Facinating device to visualize brain activity.Pros:It really does work when you get used to it.Comfortable to wear.Large selection of apps to mess around with.Free sdk for devs.Lots of info out there on the web.Cons:I had real trouble pairing this to a smartphone. On Samsung s6 it just kept appearing/disappearing from Bluetooth devices and on lg g3 it asked for a 16 digit pairing code but the device code is only 4 digits (0000). No other Bluetooth devices I own have any problems so there's something screwy going on.It works fine in windows 10 and on my oneplus6 though.Sometimes you have to push the sensor to your forehead to get a connection.This is really just a fun toy to be honest.

Product works well and easily . However what you from it ( mind training , meditation or just measuring brain waves ) will wholly depend on the phone software and the app you can get .For recording brainwave activity there are a couple of great android apps .The iOS ones I tried would not work and may depend on the Bluetooth and the i phone model. Only one person I know hot the iOS to work in the UK and even then he had to write a program to get it into his pc .

I'm still struggling to set this up on my computer and the customer support is limited. I have managed to get it to work on my phone, but the range of uses is very limited there - a work in progress., and quite frustrating. A video on how to set up, or more detailed support would be very helpful.

Although this isn't really a full review of the item as i used it for a personal project rather than the apps it has got installed and the software it comes with, i used the product to provide me with raw feedback via MATLAB based on it's single channel feed.The product doesn't have any faults from my usage and was very much a simple EEG Neurofeedback headset. Great for EEG projects that have little budget.

Takes time to heat up

Bought this device for a project at university but wasn't able to do anything with it. The Bluetooth connection is literally the worst I've ever seen: it connects successfully once every 20 times on average. It is completely useless that way. I contacted Neurosky's customer service twice in the last few months but never heard back from them. I wish I never bought it.

This piece of kit is just awful to set up. The blue tooth doesn't work...very frustrating.I think the company needs to do way more research and design. It's a faulty product, so don't waste your money. I'll be sending this unit back and hopefully, get my money back.

Connected to an Android phone once and then could not connect to any device! EVER!
