Blacksmithing for Woodworkers - Forging a Compass

This is a really excellent smithing video that covers how to make a compass/divider tool. This is not a book for a beginning smith which (at least to me) smithing for woodworkers suggests. It's a great book for a jouneyman smith who can do some simply forge welding as well as basic forging.A better book for the woodworker who wants to learn smithing to make tools for woodworking would be the excellent Make Your Own Woodworking Tools: Metalwork Techniques to Create, Customize, and Sharpen in the Home Workshop Start with that instead if you are not already a smith.

Big fan of Peter Ross. He takes his time explaining ever step of the forging . I enjoy the research time that he puts in to his projects.

Well Demonstrated. And As StaTed Minimal Tools Needed. Figured Out Stock Requirements On Second Compass. could Have Been More Helpful With Those Measuents. But Definitely A Great Resource!!!
