Original Top Upper LCD Screen Display Replacement for Nintendo DS Lite DSL NDSL with Opening Tool

My top screen had dead spots— new one was a relatively easy install. The hardest part was soldering the speaker wires, but nothing was impossible.

The screen I received was obviously used, there were dimples in the ribbon cable and other signs that it was not "factory fresh" but the ribbon wasn't curled so it had not been installed before. I connected it before installing it just to make sure the screen lit, but I did not notice the defect until after doing all the work of installing it into the case. On a black screen it has a red "halo" all around the outside of the screen. The colors don't appear obviously tinted or anything, so this isn't a bad connection. I removed it from the housing to confirm nothing was pressing on the edges of the screen, and cleaned and reinstalled the ribbon cable but nothing improved this. This is an obviously defective screen.

I have had no issues with this, its exactly what is described. This screen does not come with the plastic lense that goes on top of the screen, so you will need to keep the one from the screen you are replacing or buy a new one. It'll work without the lens, but will not be flush with the shell and will leave the screen susceptible to damage. Be extra careful with the ribbon cable. I got the smallest tear in the ribbon cable of the DS Lite I purchased recently when was reassembling it after custom painting the shell. The ribbon cable is very fragile and hard to get into the correct configuration. Also, make sure that the ribbon cable is plugged all the way in or else it will only show a white screen or be completely blank.

Overall, this is a pretty solid replacement for a DS Lite top screen. There are a couple of things to note with purchasing this screen though. There aren't metal conductor beads on the speaker connectors, so you need to add those yourself. There isn't a glass cover over the screen so you will need to purchase that separately in order to get it to look more like a regular DS Lite screen. And, there isn't tape on the back to route the wires through, so you will need to add on some electrical tape to keeps the wires in place and out of the way. Other than those three things, it wasn't a bad purchase at all, and fit pretty well in the DS Lite shell.

The screen I received had a crisp image and was of respectable quality for a good price. As long as you have the tools to solder on the speakers, I would recommend this one.

This was a relatively inexpensive fix for my ds lite, and gets the job done. It's easy to install, same as the original. My only complaint is that the screen has a noticeable flicker when on very bright/white screens. Darker scenes look perfectly fine though.

Compared to other brands I’ve tried, this one has visible scuffing on the screen. However it’s not so bad that it is visible to the naked eye. In fact it’s pretty good, it seems they actually quality test their product, there’s a QA print on the ribbon; Once I tested it myself I haven't seen any yellowing or hardware issues causing discoloration (red/orange undertone that most screens have). Overall, I think I will definitely be buying my replacements from this seller knowing they have a QA process, makes it easier knowing I’ll get a higher chance of a functional screen. Looks great.

I had ordered this replacement LCD to repair a DS with a damaged top screen flex cable. Unfortunately, the LCD arrived with a creased flex cable that appears to have been pressed against one of the sharp corners of the metal frame. Additionally, the lower right corner of the screen was damaged, resulting in a cluster of dead pixels around that area. The packaging arrived undamaged. I opted to exchange the faulty unit for another, and was promptly shipped a replacement. However, the replacement display was riddled with stuck and dead pixels across the display area. I have decided to return this one and look elsewhere.

Pude reemplazar la pantalla de mi DS a la cual se le había dañado la cinta. Aunque no sabía que había que soldarle las bocinas, pero todo salió bien

It worked as a great replacement. No issues so far.

It would have been nice if they threw in some replacement adhesive so you have something to stick on the old lense onto the panel with. (you need to re use the old plastic screen lens this is just the LCD panel). Also would have been nice to include a new strip of copper tape for the ground at the back of the screen. Because my old strip would not go back on that well. But other than that the screen Works well! Cant tell the difference between the replacement and genuine screen side by side. Very good price for what your getting. I fell bad for the other chap in the reviews that got a screen with a ribbon cable on the wrong side, I can confirm it was advertised as an NDS lite replacement and that's exactly what I got.

Working great. 4 stars due to 1 dead pixel which I was expecting after reading other reviews. But it’s barely noticeable and doesn’t bother me. Bright display with no colour distortions and have had no issues otherwise. Also arrived very quickly. Much cheaper screens are available on other sites but having done this repair a couple times I’ve found they often don’t work and have very long shipping times, so i would recommended this if you want it fast, and don’t want to have to do your own quality control.
