Cuts quickly and smoothly
Once assembled this tool will cut your piston rings smoothly and evenly. It will cut quickly so check size frequently. The only thing I would add/change would be an area to collect the grind dust. Otherwise outstanding tool.

It's a good filer
I bought this to file some of my steel piston rings. It did a great job and I would buy it again, just be sure to go SLOW! Do not rush through it and the accuracy in your work will show it, even just one turn can pull off a thou. The reason I only gave it 4 stars, is I wish there was another mounting bracket on the other side as this had a tendency to spin if it's not super tight. Great for the price, and I would recommend it

Could be better
It’ll do the job had to modify slightly to center grinding wheel in baseWould’ve expected better quality being that it’s a jets product but I guess all quality has been deminishing

If your in need to file rings , this will be a great choice .
A great file , it works like it should. To clamp it down could be a better design. But it works great!

Practice practice practice
Make sure you practice first on and old ring to get the hang of it, otherwise you will have cuts that are not square and ruin good rings. There are also good videos on youtube the serve as excellent tutorials.

Built a forged 3SGTE with this guy
It does the trick - go very slowly and make sure you're filing square edges on your rings. File slowly and measure often! I checked compression after 500 miles on my 3SGTE build and I am very happy. Can't really credit the ring file for it, but hey, it was part of the process!
