Failed laser head, and controller faults
UPDATE: To their credit, after I left my review, Atomstack reached out to me. They sent me a 100% refund. They did ask if I COULD send the laser back. Instead I think I will give them another chance, and buy another laser module from them for this one.I've owned several Atomstack lasers, all good. This thing is horrible. 2 out of 4 LED's aren't operating(my 10W cuts better than this supposed 24W). The controller had some sort of random fault and crashed the machine full speed into the back right corner, then proceeded to chew the belts up until I could hit the emergency stop. Tested on two laptops that operate my other lasers just fine. All the same, then it just magically stopped doing it.Atomstack support on their .net email will not even talk to you unless you buy from their website. Support for the .com support center won't respond once you show them it's actually bad. That's the last money Atomstack will ever see from me. The laser, the roller, and the 3 jaw rotary are all going back.I'm not alone in this. The Atomstack lasers Facebook group is full of people with new and inoperative A24's. It's obvious their quality control for this line is crap.

Junk
Cut for 5 minutes, now it's either a red light or a green light with a constant beep. It's does not work with lightburn, lasergrbl, or phone, refuses to connect. I've uninstalled and reinstalled over 10 times, nothing but an over priced paperweight!!!

Wifi is not what you think
While I do enjoy the laser, to connect to wifi is not exactly possible. Jumping through hoops to be able to connect wirelessly and it does not seem that it is possible. They have implemented something you cannot use. I have searched videos with no luck, tried other setups and have just resulted in using the USB cable. Not so great...

I think I got a remanufactured one at new price
Issue after issue. Inconsistent cuts, inconsistent power of the laser. Pretty sure that's a bad power supply. That was what sold me on I got a reman unit. It worked great for a few weeks and then got weaker and weaker. Now it can't cut 3mm basswood in 4 passes at 95% power at 300mm/min. I have had it for about a month.I'm gonna get through the issues I am dealing with but if I could do it again, I'd go with Xtool and try my luck there.

Some initial issues but Atomstack support stood by the machine and it is now awesome!
This is an updated review. I will include my initial frustrations in this review so it tells the full story, but the summary I would give up front is that Atomstack support responded to each of my issues and delivered a high quality of support in a reasonable time frame (~5 business days). My initial frustration that the laser cutter itself seemed pretty awesome but QC had made some mistakes was mitigated by the quality of Atomstack tech support (particularly considering that this seems to have been an area where Atomstack needed improvement in the past based on other reviews). I am extremely happy with the laser about a month into using it, I will maybe do a 6 month update as a follow up.When I received the cutter it was very nicely packaged. The build quality seems quite good, the setup was a breeze... unfortunately the lock on the laser cutter takes tubular keys (like the ones shown on the assembly video, instructions, and on review videos) and the keys included with my laser cutter were flat keys. I contacted Atomstack's tech support and they responded quickly (24 hours) letting me know that spare keys were not in stock in the US and recommending I do a return and replacement via Amazon to get a working machine as quickly as possible. I did this and also upgraded my machine with an enclosure because of how much I liked the initial build quality. The machine was fast to set up and the initial cut quality was good (more on this later). I spent some time building a proper ventilation system, which I highly recommend, and continued testing my laser. I'm using Lightburn (which is awesome software) and the ONLY problems I have had with the laser cutter control over a month or so of use have related to Lightburn. In particular if I leave Lightburn running on a laptop and put the laptop to sleep Lightburn can falsely see a tilt sensor warning when the laptop is woken up and the laser reconnected. Restarting Lightburn solves this issue. Everything else except the laser has been amazing on this machine. While the cutter is a joy to use I did notice once I started characterizing the laser module that mine didn't seem to be outputting the expected amount of power based on other reviews. While I was very happy with the cut quality I was frustrated that I was having to run the laser at a much slower speed than I expected (roughly ~60% of what reviewers were seeing). Diode lasers can have variability in output and materials, focus, air assist and other factors can make a huge difference in cutting speed, but the difference was enough to make me ask Atomstack tech support for help. Atomstack support got back to me quickly again and after asking me to run a few tests they replaced the laser module. I just received the new module and realized that I had not updated this review since the initial receipt of the first cutter. I will update here based on my experience with the new laser module, but I have to say that support has been fantastic so far!One thing to mention is how awesomely upgradable Atomstack's laser cutters are. I ran a spreadsheet of all the available diode cutters on Amazon and the A24 pro came out way on top from a price to performance standpoint. Some of the more exotic features available on higher end machines were relatively inexpensive to add to my A24 pro, such as the autofocus module (L2) and Y conveyor (R5).As it is now this machine is awesome, particularly at the price but also just compared to other lasers I have run in the past (mostly from the two largest brands of professional IR lasers). It is insane how good diode lasers have gotten over the past few years and I love that there is a future upgrade path for this laser with a fiber module that Atomstack already sells!
