Beautiful tone!
I have owned four or five bass amps in my short career as a player. Three of them quit within a month of purchase. I love the lighting controls on the front, and the tone is really wonderful. The knobs and controls feel really quality on this unit. I will be using this with my 410 Kustom base cabinet with a 210 Fender top.

Quality at Price
I have been extremely happy with bass tone and volume with the Hartke LX5500. It isn't perfect, but it is a very good amplifier. Not really sure you are going to hear "great" difference when using compression feature.Small package means limitations on inputs/outputs, but the size and weight is a primary feature.If you are gigging bassist, this is a solid device for your rig.
