Contains lots of recipes to try at home. Also easy to understand facts for the scientifically minded, that completely debunks modern myths about diet and health.For any urban Indian, like me, who lives on a mix of oily desi food, and western junk food, this was a real eye opener.A must read for anyone who wants to improve their health with food alone. Not just loose weight, mind you, but reverse most modern heath problems as well.Wish I'd found this book 10 years earlier.

Easy way to Superior Physical Health
Well researched and practised book on healthy eating. Coming from a Doctor, with very clear explanations for common doubts and objections. The explanations are clear, crisp and without mixing of words.Search for Indian recipes on YouTube.

Approccio convincente
Dopo aver letto una recensione su un sito americano ho ordinato il libro in lingua originale (è disponibile anche una traduzione italiana). Non ho ancora finito di leggerlo, ma l'approccio seguito mi appare molto convincente. Quali sono le cause di tante malattie e del soprappeso di tante persone nelle nostre società del benessere e dell'opulenza? Mangiamo troppo e soprattutto troppe cose che una volta potevano permettersi solo i ricchi. Possiamo mangiare a sazietà(!) riducendo drasticamente la parte proteinica della nostra alimentazione. Perché tante diete non mantengono le loro promesse o le mantengono solo a costo di grandi sacrifici e se vengono seguite con una disciplina quasi maniacale e masochista? Perché insistono su un falso criterio di alimentazione ben equilibrata con troppe proteine e troppi grassi che non fanno bene a nessuno - fanno bene solo ad un gigantesco mercato agroalimentare asservito da un battage pubblicitario che ci innonda quotidianamente invogliandoci a mangiare, a mangiare, a mangiare e a continuare di mangiare cose che continuano a contribuire all'aumento delle malattie (in primo luogo tumori e malattie del cuore) collegate a questo tipo di alimentazione.

Brilliant!!!
I first discovered Dr John McDougall on YouTube trying to find a way to lose weight and regain health after nearly 40 years as a Type 2 diabetic. I did Atkins, Juice Plus, Slimmimg World (where I put on weight!), low fat, juicing, smoothies, intermittent fasting, Paleo (briefly) and more.Until my stroke 18 months ago I was physically active and went to the gym up to 5 hours a week. I also ate meat, fish, eggs and dairy, used olive oil in with plenty of salads, green vegetables but no starchy vegetables, bananas or other sweet fruits like mango. So this was going to be a radical change for me!(Alert - be prepared for discriptions of bodily functions!)Despite my seemingly healthy diet, I had chronic constipation and passing nothing for up to 5 days. Now it can be up to 5 times a day!I am now never hungry, I eat potatoes, sweet potato, at least one large bowl of salad a day, rice, beans, corn, buckwheat pancakes, hummus, bananas, nuts, fruit and lots of veg and I'm stuffed! But just before Christmas I weighed 14.5 at the doctor's and 6 weeks later I weigh 12.8! My blood sugars are in sight of normal, my medication has been reduced, I have more energy, I sleep better mostly because the neuropathic leg pains have improved and I am able to get to standing easier as there isn't so much weight to heave up! A way to go but I feel very excited about it all.It would never have occurred to me that I could become vegan; I enjoyed meat and dairy etc. but clearly my body didn't. I could never understand vegetarianism as animals have to be slaughtered to get eggs and dairy. But having watched lots of talks on YouTube including Dr McDougall and Prof Colin Campbell (I bought his excellently researched China Study book from Amazon) and watching things like Earthlings and Forks Over Knives (also from Amazon), I am converted. I was drastic in my transition, clearing out my cupboard and freezer, giving it to either the local food bank or grateful friends.A thoroughly researched book, clear and supported by Webinars and free downloads on McDougall's website, I can't recommend this book enough! It could change my life!
